Lying Behavior, Family Functioning and Adjustment in Early Adolescence

Communication between children and parents has been the subject of several studies, examining the effects of, for example, disclosure and secrecy on adolescents’ social relationships and adjustment. Less attention has paid to adolescent deception. We developed and tested a new instrument on lying behavior in a sample of 671 parent-adolescent couples. Analyses on the psychometric properties showed that this instrument had one principal component, and high internal consistency, item-total correlations and inter-item correlations. Lying was moderately associated with other indicators of parent-child communication, the quality of the parent-child relationship, and with parenting practices. In addition, frequent lying was moderately related to behavioral problems and emotional problems.full professor at the Radboud University Nijmegen. Her major research interests are interpersonal relationships, social prediction, secrecy and disclosure, and affective forecasting for self and others.working as a developmental psychologist. She received her MA in 2001 from the University of Leiden.

东亚文化作为一个地区的文化,既具有相对的同质性或整体性,又具有多样性与差异性,它们之间的文化传播又具有双向互动的突出特点。中国文化对日、朝(韩)以及越等东南亚一些国家产生巨大影响,而各具特色的日、朝(韩)以及越等东南亚一些国家的文化对中国文化的发展与影响也不可轻视。当代东亚地区的文化传播与交流迅速发展,成为促进各国现代化建设的巨大动力。树立全球意识和开放观念,继承发展东亚传统的优秀文化,学习、吸收西方和世界其他地区的先进文化,大力增强东亚各国的交流与合作,将为21世纪东亚地区以及全世界的和平与发展做出贡献。     

Ideological contestation and disciplinary associations: An autoethnographic analysis

An autoethnographic and self-reflexive theorised analysis of aspects of the South African Communication Association reveals that its internal tensions mimicked wider contradictions both during and after apartheid. The historical role played by the association is critically examined in relation to issues of governance and naming, and with regard to its shaping of the South African scholarly community as it negotiated different paradigms, constituencies and historical-political-economic contexts. The analysis is embedded in a critique of neoliberalism and how this condition has impacted the management procedures of the association.

2010年1月1日,广西电视台国际频道（Guangxi TV Intemational）正式开播,这是广西第一个面向海外播出的电视频道,频道设有《连线东盟》、《寻找金花》、《时尚中国》等十几档栏目和电视剧场。如何利用这一优势平台做好跨文化传播,以推动广西经济的发展成了一个值得探讨的问题。本文通过对传播理论的研究,并结合广西电视台国际频道目前的传播实践,从理论和实践两方面得出了破解跨文化传播坚冰的关键词——影像。     

韩国政治社会化的历史分析及启示

政治社会化是政治文化的传播、维持和改变。一国政治文化主要依赖于内部诸条件的相互作用与耦合,但外部因素也是影响政治文化乃至政治社会化进程的重要变量。由于特殊的历史原因,韩国社会经历过多次传统社会的价值观和生活规范的解体、分化与重组。韩国政治文化及其社会化受外部因素的影响特别大,尤其是受中国、日本和美国的影响巨大。从历史的角度考察三国对韩国政治文化和政治社会化的影响,分析韩国政治社会化的历史与现实,将为包括中国在内的诸多发展中国家走向政治现代化提供有益借鉴与启示。     

Social Justice and Communication: Mill, Marx, and Habermas

This article concerns how one may theorize a social justice of communication. The article argues that the theory of democracy cannot neglect an analysis of communication and that, indeed, a social justice of communication can be identified in the discourse ethics of Jürgen Habermas’s “deliberative” theory of democracy. The socio-political analyses of communication in John Stuart Mill and Karl Marx are examined as precursors to Habermas’s position because they are useful for setting off the unique synthesis of the liberal and critical traditions that Habermas develops. Such a social justice of communication shows how the communicative mediation of the public sphere can ameliorate the tension between individual autonomy and the solidarity of group membership by communicatively empowering individuals under conditions of mutual respect and equal dignity.
