A compass but not a road map: Diversity considerations with the AFCC Guidelines on Parenting Plan Evaluations

The 2022 Guidelines for Parenting Plan Evaluations in Family Law Cases were developed taking into account membership feedback which identified guidance around issues of Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) as a high priority. The current Guidelines have integrated issues of diversity in many areas of the document, by adding a section on guiding principles and values, expanding and clarifying evaluator education and training, and embedding cultural and diversity considerations in many sections of the document. The Guidelines do not provide more direct instruction or education on specific topics or aspects of culture and diversity.

Public Value Review of China’s Public Policies on Human Organ Transplantation

Public value is a concept used to evaluate government acts and social affairs and is especially useful for evaluating ethical issues from a non-economical perspective. This article reviews the public values of China’s public policies related to human organ procurement and distribution, with the assistance of case and survey studies, and summarizes the value hierarchy or value tendency that the Chinese government wants to express through its policy design and practice. The purpose of this article is to understand national ethical policies and to determine what public values deserve to be prioritized in this field.     

On Secularization Evolution of the Image of Kumarajiva

The paper analyzes and compares the text motif, cultural background and influence of the monk biography, Confucian history, modern and post-modern literature about Kumarajiva to reveal how the image of Kumarajiva went as a cultural symbol from Buddhism into the Chinese secular culture, modern culture and post-modern culture.

魏晋南北朝时期,在中国与东南亚地区的交往中,佛教文化的交流构成了彼此间相互往来的一个重要内容,充分体现了物质文化与精神文化的交流二者并行不悖、相辅相成的密切关系。这一时期往来或取道东南亚地区而来的中外僧人所带来的大量佛教经典及其译经活动,极大地促进了佛教文化在中国的传播,为隋唐时期中国与东南亚地区佛教文化交流的进一步深化和发展奠定了坚实的基础。

2003-2008年马华公会的政策研究

2003—2008年是黄家定担任马华公会总会长时期。作为总会长,黄家定提出在维持族群和谐的基础上,进一步提升华裔在马来西亚地位的目标。为此,马华公会施行了教育、经济、党内改革、新村工作等领域的一系列新政,但施政效果不如人意,以致2008年大选失利。虽然远离政治,缺乏对华裔新社会运动的回应性是黄家定政纲的致命缺陷,但马华公会失政最本质的缘由还是在于马来西亚以巫统一党独大为核心的种族霸权制度。

Mediation and Culture: The Example of the ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition

The International Commercial Mediation Competition is organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, which held the event for the eighth time in February 2013. As the competition has grown, participation has become more and more diverse and thus mediation and negotiation have become more and more cross‐cultural. This led the ICC to invite external research on culture at the competition in February 2011. In this article, I discuss this student competition, the external research project question, and the culture of the competition. I also identify some of the further cultural issues raised by referring to relevant research on conflict and mediation across cultures, and conclude with some thoughts on how better to conceptualize the field of cross‐cultural mediation in terms of a systems approach.     

贵州文化创意产业的制度约束与市场化改革

建立现代、开放、创造、市场化的文化创意产业是贵州经济社会发展的战略问题,也是提升贵州文化事业发展水平的重要条件。贵州文化创意产业存在的制度约束包括：文化创意理念和认识严重滞后;＂企社学＂（企业、社会、学术机构）等参与的文化事业管理环节被政府部门过度管制化;文化创意的研发严重滞后;非公有制企业被＂过度管制＂,非公有制企业未得到应有的市场自由;以开发为导向的文化创意产业网络尚未形成,结构亟待调整。改革路径包括：推进企社学环节的去政府管制化的总体性改革;建立以企业为主体,非公有制企业主导的文化创意产业研发制度;改革健全文化项目评估机制,突出文化创意产业的社会价值导向等。
