Assessing the Changing Roles of the Brazilian Development Bank

Since it was founded in 1952, the Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES; Brazilian National Bank for Economic and Social Development) has been at the centre of Brazil's industrialisation and development strategy. It played a key role in the evolution of policies from import substitution to market‐opening and privatisation, to the ‘new developmentalism’. The article evaluates and discusses whether BNDES fulfils the three typical functions expected of national development banks: financial sector development; business climate enhancement; and knowledge services.

Summary

This chapter describes the processes believed to affect the performance of regional economies and the mechanisms that might connect these processes to the etiology of behavioral disorder. The initial findings of a major study of these linkages will also be summarized (based on Catalan &; Dooley, 1983; Dooley &; Catalano, 1984a, 1984b). The implications of this literature for economic policy and for the provision of mental health services are also surveyed.     

Developmental validation of the novel six-dye GoldeneyeTM DNA ID System 35InDel kit for forensic application

Insertion/deletion polymorphisms (InDels) have been treated as a prospective and helpful genetic marker in the fields of forensic human identification, anthropology and population genetics for the past few years. In this study, we developed a six-dye multiplex typing system consisting of 34 autosomal InDels and Amelogenin for forensic application. The contained InDels were specifically selected for Chinese population with the MAF ≥ 0.25 in East Asia, which do not overlap with the markers of Investigator^® DIPplex kit. The typing system was named as Goldeneye^TM DNA ID System 35InDel Kit, and a series of developmental validation studies including repeatability/reproducibility, concordance, accuracy, sensitivity, stability, species specificity and population genetics were conducted on this kit. We confirmed that the 35InDel kit is precise, sensitive, species specific and robust for forensic practice. Moreover, the 35InDel kit is capable of typing DNA extracted from forensic routine case-type samples as well as degraded samples and mixture samples. All markers are proved to be highly polymorphic with an average observed heterozygosity (He) of 0.4582. The combined power of discrimination (CPD) is 0.999 999 999 999 978 and the combined power of exclusion in duos (CPE_D) and trios (CPE_T) are 0.978 837 and 0.999573, respectively, which are higher than those of the Investigator^® DIPplex kit. Thus, the Goldeneye^TM DNA ID System 35InDel kit is suitable for forensic human identification and could serve as a supplementary typing system for paternity testing.Supplemental data for this article is available online at https://doi.org/10.1080/20961790.2021.1945723 .

对于女性主义文学批评的理论未来而言,性别诗学的建构具有十分重要的意义。本文围绕女性主义文学批评逐步走向理性与成熟、逐步实现诗学的转换、强化个性的文学写作方式与批评理念、逐渐改善女性的生存状况与文学现状、跨学科研究等方面,阐述了建构开放多元的性别诗学体系的必要前提,从而对女性主义文学批评的发展走向进行一些前瞻性思考。

笔迹鉴定结论作为一项专门的技术鉴定结论,是我国法定的七大证据之一,在司法活动中发挥着重要作用,其发展趋势有六个方面:一是笔迹鉴定的标准化趋势;二是统计分析方法在笔迹鉴定中的运用;三是笔迹鉴定的微观化趋势;四是计算机自动笔迹识别的运用;五是仪器分析在笔迹鉴定中的运用;六是手写字迹书写时间的鉴定。

论教育管理学的社会科学属性

教育管理学的学科性质是一个颇存争议的基本理论问题。将教育管理学视为社会科学，既有相当深厚的历史缘由，也有很强说服力的本土依据和国际依据。意涵变化中的社会科学对教育管理学的建设和发展产生了并仍将产生重大影响。作为一门成熟的社会科学的教育管理学，其发展历程主要表现为三个阶段：教育管理学开始大踏步地迈向以逻辑实证论、逻辑经验论为理论基石的社会科学阶段；教育管理学在观点纷呈的社会科学研究背景下开始走向范式多元阶段；教育管理学在走向开放、温和、综合的社会科学的影响下，进入创建新型的“大教育管理学”阶段。     

DEVELOPMENTAL TRAJECTORY GROUPS: FACT OR A USEFUL STATISTICAL FICTION?*

A rapidly growing literature in criminology and psychology uses a group‐based methodology to identify and analyze developmental trajectories. Some confusion has arisen about the interpretation of this novel statistical model and with it some degree of cautionary commentary. We begin with a discussion of the role of trajectory groups as a statistical device for approximating population differences in developmental trajectories. We then discuss three misconceptions about group‐based trajectory modeling that stem from misunderstandings about the approximating role of trajectory groups: (1) individuals actually belong to a trajectory group, (2) the number of trajectory groups is immutable, and (3) the trajectories of group members follow the group‐level trajectory in lock step. We also point out that groupbased statistical modeling is not bound at the hip to the testing of taxonomic theories, and can just as well be used to test nontaxonomic theories.
