夏目漱石的十年创作生涯正值家庭小说发展、鼎盛的时代。家庭小说的女主人公多为贤妻良母的理想形象,体现了文学与国家意识形态的互动关系。《行人》中的阿直是处于贤妻良母和新女性之间的存在。前者将家庭矛盾的焦点设定于夫妻关系之外,丈夫多关注妻子肉体上的贞操。后者中的一郎则因不能把握阿直的内心和灵魂而苦恼,家族制度的重压酿成夫妻双方的悲剧。

潘岳作为西晋著名作家,其生平仕历和文学创作都极具代表性,研究潘岳的生平事迹,既是知人论世之需要,也有助于增强对西晋文人生活状态的了解。然而,在一些史书和谱牒中,潘岳的出入行藏多有舛误。依据相关史料及部分研究者的研究成果,对其中有关家世和故里的部分进行细致考订,尽可能还原历史的真实。     

论农村家族的现代价值及其发挥

农村家族在具有延续传统文化、为村民提供一定集体保障、向基层权威供给合法性和发展农村市民社会的潜在现代价值,要发挥这些价值就需要在纠正社会上的农村家族偏见和依法整治家族非法行为的同时,积极构建以家族为本位的农村选委会、监委会和组委会制度,借此创新家族的农村政治参与渠道。     

农村困难家庭危房改造政策的绩效评价——以浙江杭州为例

农村困难家庭危房改造是由农村低保危房家庭自愿提出申请,政府予以补助,采用新建、改建、扩建、修缮、置换、租用等方式实行住房救助的一项公共政策。本文通过国内外公共政策绩效评估方法回顾,结合农村困难家庭危房改造绩效表达的特殊性,从直接绩效和带动绩效两个维度,采用综合分析和民意调查相结合的方法,比较分析各利益相关者的目标实现程度和带动效应。直接绩效主要表现在救助受益面扩大,改造任务超额完成;公平公正凸现,最困难群众得到优先救助;居住条件改善,困难家庭居住品质明显提高;惠民政策整合,困难家庭建房负担减轻;工作机制创新,危房改造政策绩效显现。带动效应主要表现为促进了困难群众就业增收,密切了党群关系,促进了社会和谐,加快了城乡一体化进程。但是,由于危房改造面对的是农村最困难的群体,工作推进难度大,需要解决的矛盾多,需要采取相应措施进一步完善。     

I am becoming my mother: (post)diaspora,local entanglements and entangled locals

ABSTRACT

Drawing on the sensory, self-shifting approach of Lorna Goodison’s 1986 poem ‘I am becoming my mother’, and on quantum theory for brief insights into entanglement, this article gazes into the still visualities of family photographs of my own Birmingham childhood (my mother died that same year) to push towards a more entangled conception of (post)diaspora. I use this highly personal entanglement to take issue with three troublingly disentangled ways in which postdiaspora has been imagined in recent academic literature: as the culmination of a teleological movement from migrant to diaspora to post-diaspora; as the slowly weakening pull of diasporic responsibilities and remittances; and as a means to archaise and de-link from ties to a forgetful and irresponsible diaspora. Ultimately, the article pushes towards a more deeply materially and personally entangled version of (post)diaspora.     

A history of the use of the concept of parental alienation in the Australian family law system: contradictions,collisions and their consequences

ABSTRACT

This paper presents insights into the history and current deployment of the concept of parental alienation in the Australian family law system. It begins in 1989, when an article on parental alienation syndrome was first published in an Australian law journal. It then traces aspects of the socio-legal and social science research, gender politics, law reform and jurisprudence of the following 30 years, paying attention to moments of significant change. The impacts of major amendments that emphasise the desirability of post-separation shared parenting outcomes in 1996 and 2006 are specifically considered. More recently, in 2012, reforms intended to improve the family law system’s response to domestic and family violence were introduced. The history reveals an irreconcilable tension between the ‘benefit’ of ‘meaningful’ post-separation parent-child relationships and the protection of children from harm. When mothers’ allegations of violence in the family are disbelieved, minimised or dismissed, they are transformed from victims of abuse into perpetrators of abuse – alienators of children from their fathers. Their actions and attitudes collide with the shared parenting philosophy. This is arguably an inescapable consequence of a family law system that struggles to deal effectively with family violence in the context of a strong shared parenting regime.     

National-Level Family Policies and workers’ Access to Schedule Control in a European Comparative Perspective: Crowding Out or In,and for Whom?

Abstract

This paper examines national-level family policies in a comparative perspective, to see whether they “crowd out” company-level family-friendly policies, namely schedule control. Further, it examines whether this relationship varies for different types of family policies, and for different groups of workers – i.e. distinguished by gender, parenthood status and skill divisions. The paper uses data from 27 European countries in 2010, and applies multilevel random slopes models with cross-level interaction terms. Results show that generous national-level family policies, in particular work-facilitating policies, “crowd in” company-level schedule control provisions, especially for high-skilled workers. However, very generous leave entitlements seem to crowd out schedule control provision.     

Violent backgrounds of economically disadvantaged youth: Risk factors for perpetrating violence?

Adolescent Job Corps residents (n=474) reported the violence they had experienced, witnessed, and perpetrated with regards to parents, siblings, friends, and strangers. Results indicated that there was a high prevalence of all types of violence in this atrisk adolescent sample. Moreover, the majority of adolescents who reported violent experiences indicated threat or use of a weapon was involved. Gender differences were obtained such that boys reported perpetrating more aggression against friends and strangers than girls. Girls reported witnessing more parental aggression than boys. No gender differences in parental victimization rates were obtained. Contrary to prediction, parental victimization did not significantly predict perpetration towards siblings, friends, or strangers for either gender. However, parental victimization did predict increased violence towards parents. Surprisingly, for females especially, witnessing parental violence reduced the likelihood of violence towards parents. These findings support the need to include conflict resolution skills as a component of Job Corps training.
