论交际策略在高职高专英语教学中的应用

交际策略是语言交际能力的一个重要组成部分,在外语习得中具有重要的作用。由于东西方语言和文化的差异,往往导致高职高专学生在用英语交流时常出现交流受阻或中断的情况。因而,利用真实或模拟的语境让学生了解文化差异,培养学生的交际策略意识和能力,使其在实际交流过程中有意识地扬长避短,才能切实提高学生的英语交际水平。     

论我国正当防卫制度

我国正当防卫制度是一般防卫与特别防卫制度的结合。特别防卫制度是在法律规定的在针对正在进行的特定重大不法人身侵害等案件中的防卫人才有权实施的不受防卫限度、手段等限制的不承担防卫过当责任的一种特别防卫行为。我国防卫制度以一般防卫制度为基础,防卫过当的行为依然受一般防卫制度的调整。     

隐喻的认知视角与语境解读

隐喻不仅是一种修辞手段,更是一种重要的思维方式和认知工具。认知语言学从一个新的视角和高度来解释隐喻,为许多语言现象的理解提供了理据。从认知角度分析隐喻的本质、种类及影响其识破和理解的相关语境因素是一种有益的尝试。     

劳动担保合同存废论——兼论确立劳动人事一般保证制度

对于劳动担保合同,言废者有之,言存者有之。从现实来看,一方面,《劳动合同法》关于不得要求劳动者提供担保的规定未能消除大量存在的劳动担保合同;另一方面,劳动担保合同领域存在的乱象亦亟需疏导规制。因此,劳动担保合同既不可简单废除,也不能轻言存续。正确的选择是既要从严控制劳动担保合同的订立和适用,也要在立法上留有余地,确立特定行业岗位的劳动人事一般保证制度,不实行连带保证制度。     

Stature Estimation Formulae for Nigerians

Abstract:  In stature estimation, long limbs and the stature formula of Trotter and Gleser easily come to mind. In the recent past, a lot of workers have established formulae specific to their populations using whole length of limbs, fragmented bones, circumference of long bones, and even length of the vertebrae. We have in this work used tibia length, height of subjects, and the regression models to establish formulae specific to Nigerians. We measured height and tibia length of 200 (96 male and 104 female) adult Nigerians. The tibia length was measured from upper limit of the medial condoyle to the tip of medial malleolus using a measuring tape calibrated in meters while the height of individuals were also measured using meter scales. All measurements were made by one person, to avoid interobserver error, and repeatedly until a constant value is obtained. We obtained general formulae for males and females which compares favorably with that of Duyar and Pelin, and can be relied upon.     

Racial Contexts and White Interests: Beyond Black Threat and Racial Tolerance

The impact of racial context on white voters' support for black candidates in biracial elections has drawn considerable attention from students of racial politics. Two major theories—black threat and social interaction—use different geographic units and provide conflicting explanations. The present study seeks to contribute to the resolution of the controversy by empirically examining white crossover voting at both election unit and neighborhood levels. Twenty-nine mayoral and councilmanic district elections in New Orleans from 1977 to 1998 are investigated. The findings are not consistent with the hypotheses derived from black threat and social interaction theories. Rather than a reflection of racial tolerance or hostility, the changes in white crossover voting in different racial contexts may indicate a rational and strategic adjustment on the part of white voters when they face the prospect of black electoral success.     

当代农民法律意识现状语境分析

认为当代农民法律意识现状是以淡漠为特征的判断是不准确的和不合理的,这种研究没有触及问题实质。农民法律意识淡漠表象的背后是农民通过法律的利益诉求不足,以及农民可用社会规范的多元性。农民对法律的淡漠态度,有其现实的合理性和正当性。     

我国民事诉讼法的理念转换与总则的制度重构

民事诉讼制度的完善是构建社会主义和谐社会的一个重要方面。民事诉讼法的修改为回应社会发展的需要,必须首先在诉讼理念上实现根本转变,同时,通过系统且细致的制度建构保障这些新理念的实现。     

The 2017 General Election,Brexit and the Return to Two‐Party Politics: An Aggregate‐Level Analysis of the Result

The outcome of the 2017 general election—a hung parliament—defied most predictions. In this article, we draw on aggregate‐level data to conduct an initial exploration of the vote. What was the impact of Brexit on the 2017 general election result? What difference did the collapse of UKIP make? And what was the relative importance of factors such as turnout, education, age and ethnic diversity on support for the two main parties? First, we find that turnout was generally higher in more pro‐remain areas, and places with high concentrations of young people, ethnic minorities and university graduates. Second, we find that the Conservatives made gains in the sort of places that had previously backed Brexit and previously voted for UKIP . But, third, we find that the gains the Conservatives made from the electoral decline of UKIP were offset by losses in the sort of places that had previously supported the Conservatives, particularly areas in southern England with larger numbers of graduates. The implication of these findings is that while a Brexit effect contributed to a ‘realignment on the right’, with the Conservative strategy appealing to people in places that had previously voted for UKIP , this strategy was not without an electoral cost, and appears to have hurt the party in more middle class areas.     

School and Neighborhood Contexts,Perceptions of Racial Discrimination,and Psychological Well-being Among African American Adolescents

The present study examined contextual influences on the relationship between racial discrimination (individual, cultural, and collective/institutional) and psychological well-being. Two hundred and fifty two African American adolescents (46% male and 54% female, average age = 16) completed measures of racial discrimination, self-esteem, depressive symptoms and life satisfaction. Archival information regarding the racial/ethnic composition of the participants’ neighborhoods and schools was used and increased school diversity was linked to increased perceptions of cultural discrimination. Regardless of school and neighborhood diversity, high perceptions of collective/institutional discrimination were linked to lower self-esteem for students in high diversity settings. Further, high levels of collective/institutional discrimination were associated with lower life satisfaction for African American youth in low diversity settings.
