英语广告文体中的隐喻

文体的功能决定着隐喻的个性。广告隐喻不仅具有一般语言学上的认知意义，并且直接服务于广告交际目的，影响整个广告的效果。英语广告文体中的隐喻对于广告的作用还反映在它的类型分布特点与翻译体现的交际制约方面。应用文体的认知研究不仅要关注文体语言间的共性，更需关注文体的个性形成。     

论《庄子·人间世》中的喻辞

“医门多疾”在《人间世》中作为一个“喻辞”,形象地表达出颜回急于入世救民的心情.“医门多疾”蕴含政治理性、入世精神等方面的思想内容,属于《庄子》散文“三言”中的“重言”.进一步而言,“医门多疾”可视为一个“隐喻”,是理解《人间世》乃至庄子哲学的一个线索.它所包含的思想观念、精神品格最终在庄子哲学中被一扫而空.     

水：中国法思想的本喻

中国法思想的类型在本源上就不同于西方。早期的中国哲人对法的思考并不借助于概念和逻辑,而是来自于对水这种物质的观审、想象和沉思,由水所提供的意象成为中国法思想的一个原型。从治水的经验中提取出对治人一样有用的“准绳”概念,从“静止的水”的观省中建构了法的模型,从“源头之水”、“水舟关系”建立起中国传统政治法律关系原型。对于中国传统法思想而言,“水”不是说明“法”的一个文学意义的比喻,而是对法进行概念认知过程中的一个“本喻”,是概念体系的基础。     

论心理学中的“隐喻”

心理学科学化以来,精致性、确定性和中立性的科技理性和逻辑思维一直拥有着绝对的话语权,剥夺、放逐了心理学语言中另一种权力--隐喻权力.在心理科学领域,隐喻的存在总有它的道理.它既是一种语言现象,也是一种文化现象,而作为一种思维方式,它是对逻辑演绎和科技理性的一种超越,对事物另外视角的深层次理解和求索.其创造、代替、表达及模式等作用,越来越以一种丰富性、内隐性及不可穷尽性等特征,使心理学流溢出民族文化品性.     

连接论:对基于计算机隐喻的认知模型的质疑

本文比较了基于计算机隐喻的传统认知处理模型的内容与特点和新兴起的连接论的内容与特点，认为，连接论将取代传统的基于计算机隐喻的认知处理模型成为今后指导人类认知研究的主流思想；语言学等学科要取得突破必须抛弃计算机隐喻的影响。     

从认知角度分析英语名词化现象

名词化现象在英语中无处不在。名词化是语法隐喻的主要来源。名词化过程主要是把表达“过程”的动词或说明某一事件的小句加以“物化”,从而浓缩成动词性名词。在这一过程中作为动作过程的参与者或发出者丢失了,这样所得到的名词化词组就会损失部分原有的信息,语义上可能产生歧义或模糊。但是,名词化词组却孕包和浓缩了许多信息,它可能是多个命题的组合体。名词化词组由于失去了动作的参与者或发出者,在描述事件或说明事物时它显得更为客观;因此,名词化是科技英语最重要的特征之一。     

Labour and Antisemitism: a Crisis Misunderstood

In this article, we argue that Labour’s antisemitism crisis has been misunderstood. We suggest that a more accurate and sophisticated understanding of antisemitism offers a way forward. There are three elements to this claim. First, by drawing on existing data on attitudes towards Jews, we criticise the widespread focus on individual ‘antisemites’, rather than on the broader problem of antisemitism. In turn, we conceive of antisemitism not as a virus or poison, as in so many formulations, but rather, as a reservoir of readily available images and ideas that subsist in our political culture. Second, following on from this understanding, we offer five ways forward. Finally, we set this analysis in the context of a historical parting of the ways between anti-racism and opposition to antisemitism. An anti-racism defined solely by conceptions of whiteness and power, we argue, has proven unable to fully acknowledge and account for anti-Jewish racism.

A Contrastive Analysis on Differences between Chinese Kou and Korean?

The basic meaning of Chinese Kou and Korean? is the organ that can breath, feed and speak, based on which they all can be extended in relevance and similarity. The agents are metaphors, metonymies and statute images. In their extension, the cognitive principles are in common, but the details of the extension are different. That shows a basic idea in contemporary linguistics; that is, there is more generality than individuality in human language.     

Romania is a family and it needs a strict father: conceptual metaphors at work in radical right populist discourses

Investigating Romanian radical right populism, I evidence the gendered nature of conceptual metaphors and provide insights on the specific masculinities that they underpin in such political discourses. With the 2004 presidential elections as a backdrop, the analysis focuses on how the radical right populist candidates articulated in their discourses the conceptual metaphor of the “strict father.” At first, the theoretical standpoints on conceptual metaphors are corroborated with the conceptualization of populist charismatic leadership. Subsequently, a gendered perspective is added to the populist conceptualizations. The leaders' self-representation as messianic fathers of the national family is evidenced by investigating their discursive appeals to protect, discipline and punish the people. Furthermore, I elaborate how conceptual metaphors may be employed to consolidate a position of uncontested leadership and moral superiority of the radical right populist leaders.
