Body Image Concerns in Young Girls: The Role of Peers and Media Prior to Adolescence

Peer and media influences have been identified as important conveyors of socio-cultural ideals in adolescent and preadolescent samples. This study aims to explore peer and media influences in the body image concerns and dieting awareness of younger girls, aged 5–8 years. A sample of 128 girls was recruited from the first 4 years of formal schooling. Individual interviews were conducted to assess the aspects of body image, as well as dieting awareness by means of a brief scenario. A number of sources of peer and media influence were examined. It was found that by 6 years of age, a large number of girls desired a thinner ideal figure. Both peer and media influences emerged as significant predictors of body image and dieting awareness. Specifically, girls’ perceptions of their peers’ body dissatisfaction predicted their own level of body dissatisfaction and dieting awareness. Watching music television shows and reading appearance-focused magazines predicted dieting awareness. In particular, girls who looked at magazines aimed at adult women had greater dissatisfaction with their appearance. Thus, the present study highlights that girls aged 5–8 years of age are already living in an appearance culture in which both peers and the media influence body image and dieting awareness.Hayley Dohnt, B. 大众传媒越来越深度地参与社会生活,我们对客观现实的认识也越来越依赖大众传媒,现实环境逐渐演变为媒介环境。媒介环境呈现出鲜明的影像特征,“我靠虚像生活”已经成为一种生存状态。运用昆德拉的“意象形态”、柏拉图的“洞穴理论”、李普曼的“拟态环境”、藤竹晓的“拟态环境的环境化”、鲍德里亚的“仿真、超真实、内爆”等理论,可以对此进行不同角度的阐述。公众把媒介环境的影像当成客观环境的真实来把握,就会落入“托马斯公理”所预言的圈套之中,可能使错误理解成为现实。     

世俗化时代的身份变异——当代女性文学中母亲形象的一种写作方式

1990年代以来的世俗化潮流极大影响了包括女性文学在内的当代文学写作.女性文学写作对女性重要角色--母亲身份的质疑与反思,成为引人注目的文学现象,彰显出女性写作的独特意义.对母亲欲望化情感的书写和母女情感的去魅是女性文学写作的两种重要叙事策略,由此实现了母亲形象的世俗化还原,动摇、冲击着男权话语的权力结构.     

Factors Contributing to Gender Differences in Depressive Symptoms: A Test of Three Developmental Models

In a longitudinal study on 115 early adolescents, the impact of major events, relationship stressors, and coping style in interaction with biological changes on depressive outcome in late adolescence were explored. Three developmental models proposed by Nolen-Hoeksema and Girgus (1994, Psychol. Bull. 115: 424–433), which attempt to explain the emergence of gender differences in adolescent depressive symptoms, were tested. Multiple regression analyses conducted to test Model 1 identified two etiological factors associated with gender differences of depression, namely, stress in the adolescent–mother relationship and a more negative body image. Tests of Model 2 revealed etiological factors which correlated with depression in adolescent girls but not adolescent boys. The correlational patterns of avoidant coping and body image emerged as relevant factors for Model 2. Finally, tests of Model 3 searched for factors which were more likely to be observed in adolescent girls than boys and which would put girls at risk should they interact with a third etiological factor. Early maturational timing emerged as a factor for Model 3.     

体外培养FBs损伤模型的建立及细胞免疫组化研究

首次应用培养人胎肺成纤维细胞 (FBs)损伤模型 ,体外研究创缘FBs合成细胞型纤维连接蛋白 (cellu larfibronectins,cFn)的变化与损伤时间的关系。结果表明 ,损伤使处于静息状态的融合FBs成为具有运动能力和增殖能力的活跃细胞。应用免疫组化ABC法结合图像分析技术 ,观察伤后不同时间创缘FBs内cFn的含量变化。伤后 1h ,可以检测到cFn有变化 ,且在伤后 6h内 ,cFn逐渐增多 ,其变化与损伤时间呈正相关。这对今后应用cFn与损伤时间推断的研究提供了科学依据 ,同时为法医学损伤时间研究开辟了新的途径。     

一种基于Otsu算法的印章二值化算法

本文提出了一种基于Otsu算法的印章二值化法.该算法通过对算法的改进,考虑了印章图象象素的灰度分布值和它们邻域象素的平均灰度值分布情况.并不是用于整幅印章图象,而是用于分块的印章图象.实验证明,该算法适合印章的二值化处理.

论男性叙事中的天使型女性形象

男性作家创作中有两种颇为极端的女性形象:“女巫”与“天使”。围绕男性叙事中的天使型女性形象,从男性审美理想的再现、虚假的女性镜像、规范与压抑三个方面进行分析,可以揭示出男性文学中不自觉的男性立场,继而有利于女性认清自己的生存境遇,同时也有助于男性作家的深刻反思。

与先秦诸子文章相比较,《庄子》寓言中出现了较多的技匠类人物形象。《庄子》作者深受上古文化观念的影响。其特定的社会地位、生活经历,也决定了《庄子》寓言的价值趋向。＂道＂是庄子哲学的本体,运用技匠类人物形象的目的在于以＂技＂释＂道＂,技匠技术之精妙正好说明＂道＂的自然无为。
