American Views of Europe

America’s diplomacy towards Europe has passed through two broad historic phases. A first, isolationist phase, determined in part by America’s need to maintain its domestic multinational consensus, was replaced, after World War II and under the Soviet threat, by a policy of hegemonic engagement. The Soviet collapse opened a new era forcing a reinterpretation of America’s role in Europe and the world. Four different narratives have emerged: triumphalist, declinist, chaotic or pluralist. If a unipolar American role seems unlikely to persist, American decline is all too possible. A new hegemonic replacement seems unlikely, which makes the pluralist narrative plausible and desirable. This multipolar world will require an adaptation of the Western alliance and a new way of thinking about interstate relations. Confederal Europe, for its experience in bargaining and conciliation, might have much to offer to the new plural world order.     

论精神信仰的虚无主义困境及其克服

随着全球现代化的逐步推进和疯狂扩张,工具理性大行其道,自我意识极度膨胀,对现代人的思想文化、价值观念和意义世界构成严重冲击,导致传统价值规范日益虚无化,核心价值体系日趋无序化。在资本逻辑与物化意识侵蚀下,一些人精神家园荒芜、人生信仰迷惘、虚无主义盛行。对精神信仰的虚无主义进行无情揭露和深刻批判,坚持马克思主义和社会主义核心价值体系,坚持中华民族的文化自信、文化自觉和文化自强,是当代中国走出精神低迷、重建精神家园的必由之路。     

‘Were women present at the demographic transition?’ A question revisited

In this contribution I argue that the future of historical demography has much to gain from the incorporation of women and gender into research on the (first) fertility decline in the Western world. Gender, as an explanatory concept, can help construct more complex models for fertility decline in which economic, social and cultural explanations can be connected and which are more sensitive to diversity, to historical context, and to contingency. By perceiving men and women as gendered identities who may have different interests in reproductive outcomes, we will not only restore the necessary agency to historical actors, but we will also see more clearly how many important questions on the fertility decline still remain unanswered.     

涉警网络舆情的法治解读

近年来,涉警网络舆情频发,对伦理道德、传统文化、政府的公信力等造成了冲击。公民法治意识的觉醒是网络舆情形成的内在动因;警察执法不公或瑕疵是涉警网络舆情高发的主因。在舆情发展的进程中,网民质疑政府公信力的倾向性明显;网民对知情权的诉求强烈。公安机关要通过透明、公平公正执法,树立起良好的职业形象,增强公众对公安机关的信任度。一旦发生涉警网络舆情,公安机关应以合作而非对抗的理念疏导舆情,迅速发表案件事实,有效缓解舆论压力,引导舆论走向。     

“我将无我，不负人民”重要论述的四重意蕴

文学VS政治:帕慕克的文学思想探源

帕慕克以创作闻名世界,而其文学思想尤其是有关"文学与政治"的论述独树一帜,迄今尚未引起学界重视。本文参照其创作实践,并将相关论述与当代西方文论进行广泛比较发现:首先,帕慕克将"文学与政治"问题作出解说;其次,他提出另一种文学的政治性,并讨论了非西方的压迫社会的文学与政治的悖论关系,提醒人们文学批评与研究不能忽视文学作品的虚构性此一重要特点;最后,他重新定义"文学与政治"的关系,尽力创设一种超越文学与政治二元对立框架的阅读文学的方法框架,加深我们对殖民与后殖民文学的理解和研究。
