风水及文化积累的局限——旧金山华人移民的文化认同

20世纪80年代以来,移居美国的香港华人极力想要在美国积累文化资本和经济资本,开始在旧金山的湾区购买房地产。他们带去“风水”的文化逻辑,即在他们认为会给他们带来好运的地方进行房地产投资。这一行为在当今这样一个跨国时代的背景下,向皮埃尔.布迪厄提出的文化资本积累的观点提出了挑战。新的移民也许可以获得文化资本,但却难于把它转变为社会资本,因为在象征资本和种族认同之间产生了一种不协调,也因此造成了他们在东道社会中社会地位低下的原因。所以,文化资本积累上的局限对移民来说是十分明显的。

论民间巫术信仰的符号象征

象征是人类的一种重要思维方式,特别是原始先民的一种重要思维方式.中国民间巫术中的符号象征,往往是通过作为符号的各种物体、事象、图像等来隐喻某种概念或某种思想感情,而且主要是运用图案、数字、色彩、方位等各种比较简单的符号来隐喻某种象征意义.     

西辛庄弃村立市的法理检视

根据我国法律，市是行政区划单位的一种，其建置有明确的规定。而河南省濮阳县庆祖镇西辛庄市（筹）在15个村村民的签字画押下挂牌成立。尽管向外宣称其建市的目的是实现农民的城市梦．但这种“自我封市”行为的合法性仍遭到外界的质疑。从法理上看，西辛庄弃村立市行为违反了现行宪法和相关法律．行政区划的立法性建置否定符号性建置的存在，权力机关监督不作为是导致这种创新现象的根源。     

基于创新能力培养的市场营销学课程教学改革探索

市场营销学的本质要求创新,急剧变化的社会经济环境要求市场营销者必须具备创新性运用市场营销理论解决不断出现的新问题的能力,因而市场营销学课程教学应注重对学生创新能力的培养。为实现该目标,首先应将学生创新能力的培养要求体现在课程教学培养目标规划中,其次应对市场营销学课程内容进行恰当的调整,再次应该在课程教学过程中灵活运用设疑式教学法、情景式教学法、案例教学法及实践教学法等方式方法,最后在课程考核中应该体现出对学生创新能力培养的重视。     

Identification of the Edentulous Individual: An Investigation into the Accuracy of Radiographic Identifications*

Abstract: The dental identification of edentulous individuals can be challenging based on the lack of antemortem materials and unique features visible on radiographs. The constant resorption of the alveolar ridges further complicates the process. The purpose of this study was to quantify the error rate and reliability of dental identifications based on a comparison of synthesized antemortem and postmortem radiographs of edentulous individuals. Ten observers examined ten cases on two occasions and reported dichotomous and conclusion level decisions. These were analyzed using Kappa and Receiver Operator Characteristics. The mean area under the curve was 0.75 and the mean sensitivity was 0.57 and specificity was 0.83. These results suggest that dental identifications of edentulous individuals using radiographs alone have a high error rate and should be dual reported. These data add further weight to the argument that all dental prostheses should be labeled.

A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE CHINESE LAW OF CONSTRUCTIVE DELIVERY FROM AN ENGLISH COMMON LAW PERSPECTIVE

All three forms of constructive delivery, namely, traditio brevi manu, traditio longa manu, and constitutum possessorium exist in both Chinese law and English law with notable differences in each form. As regards traditio brevi manu, the current unique requirement of the transferee’s prior possession being “legal” under Chinese law cannot be found in or deduced from its English counterpart. As regards traditio longa manu, the major difference between the two jurisdictions is that the third-party possessor’s attornment is necessary condition for a valid traditio longa manu in English law whereas it is not in Chinese law. As regards constitutum possessorium, while English law accepts a wider scope of scenarios than Chinese law, passing of property in English law by way of constitutum possessorium is only effective between the parties themselves but not viz a viz third parties whereas it is effective in both respects in Chinese law. Compared to a mess in English law regarding the issue of symbolic delivery, the simple, clear and negative attitude towards symbolic delivery in Chinese law is to be applauded, and is to be regarded as a Chinese voice that should be insisted on and be brought into the upcoming Book of Property of the Chinese Civil Code.     

Labour Party: saved by the modernisers or modernised to be saved?

The paper treats politics as a complex process that embraces actual or potential interactions among constructed meanings of different social actors through various symbolic forms drawing on the specific socio‐historical, political context. These symbolic forms can take the form of various kinds from everyday linguistic utterances to complex images and texts. It is suggested that there is a strong interrelationship between ‘image’ and political discourse and their symbolic value grows as long as they come from consistent communication among all the social actors participating in the political process inside and outside of the political organisation. Two historical examples from the British political landscape—the Labour election defeat in 1987 and the Labour leadership election in 1994—are examined so as to draw some useful remarks concerning the limitations in drawing the line between ‘image’ and political discourse and among processes considered either internal or external of the party. 社会文化现象的象征意义及解读--以木戛拉祜纳年节仪式的分析为例

用不同的文化象征法来研究少数民族年节仪式的象征因素时 ,不仅要借鉴不同的分析方法 ,还必须考虑到塑造社会文化象征意义的各种社会历史条件和内在差异。在相关分析中 ,研究者应该明确 ,不同层次的意义和对社会意义的不同方式的解释 ,都是从不同角度表达的社会真实 ,不要忽视那些动态的社会文化意义 ,特别是隐藏在动态的文化再生产中的权力关系。
