Parsing Pegasus: An Infrastructural Approach to the Relationship between Technology and Swiss Security Politics

How do technologies matter for security politics? This article introduces the kind of arguments an infrastructural approach would focus its answer on. It illustrates how the approach would work by focussing on how the spyware Pegasus developed by the Israeli company NSO matters for Swiss security politics. It follows the infrastructural approach showing how and why it would tend to three things primarily: the politics of the infrastructures Pegasus is inscribed in, the politics of the processes of infrastructuring the software generates and the infrapolitics that sustain and transform these processes and infrastructures. The article also discusses the strengths and weaknesses of infrastructural approaches, underlining that since they are relational, processual and radically open epistemologically and ontologically, infrastructural approaches are suitable for opening new agendas, re‐problematising and re‐imagining the politics of security technologies. They are less suited for studies premised on a fixed understanding of the politics of security technology.     

Pragmatized Aesthetics: The Impact of Legitimacy Pressures in Symphony Orchestras

This article explores the balancing exercise between opposing value regimes in symphony orchestras. This complex environment in which art organizations move while producing art will be mapped out in a model called a “biotope.” In recent years, orchestras have been struck hard by declines in the cultural sector. As a result of opposing legitimacy pressures in today’s symphony orchestras, standardized canonical repertoire now serves as a pragmatized aesthetic compromise. This article suggests that although this compromise grants short-term legitimacy to the art organization, it simultaneously brings its biotope out of balance, reinforcing the legitimacy crisis it was meant to avert.     

回归人的本真存在——生态美学运思方式之省思

生态美学逐步成为当代美学研究的热点之一,这实质上是"天人合一"运思方式对"主客二分"运思方式的超越。传统本体论美学之所以陷入困境,主要是由于传统"主客二分"的运思方式造成的,虽然这种思维路径在人类的历史上有其深远和积极的意义,但这种意义又是相对的。生态美学消除了人与世界的对峙,以此回归人的本真存在,从而在人与世界的和谐共处中获得自由。     

Humor and Deconstruction: the Ideological Characteristics and Strategies of Chuangtzu's Skepticism Aesthetics

Humor is Chuangtzu’s attitude towards life and his aesthetic approach. It is the spiritual tool of his irony and deconstruction, and also the inevitable structure and necessary complement of his imagination and wisdom. In the sense of existentialism, humor is the way and means for Chuangtzu to contend with tragic existence and it is a kind of smile to bear the pain. Thus, humor and deconstruction constitute the ideological characteristics and one of the important strategies of Chuangtzu’s Skepticism Aesthetics.     

百年文学人类学研究范式的审美视阈

文学人类学是在文学和人类学的交叉点上生长起来的,经过百年来的不断发展,目前已经形成了一门世界性的学科。在中西文化交流的背景下,中国的文学人类学从无到有,逐渐得到发展。文学人类学既是一种批评的方法,又是对文学本质的一种认识,20世纪中国文学人类学的发展显示了文学研究范式的革新。     

评萨特美学的人文主义想象

萨特美学体现出来的人道主义精神有别于以往的人文主义思想:一方面表现为他的以存在主义思想奠基的对于弱小的个体生命的关怀有别于以往资产阶级人文主义的虚伪性;另一方面表现为他的以抽象的“自由”奠基的人道主义把对于个体生命之关怀导入虚无,这是萨特美学之人文主义思想的内在矛盾。     

Women on the Edge of Modernity

Feminism has long been committed to a critique of stereotypic examples of women in patriarchal discourse and has been keen to see what it could offer by way of alternatives. Yet to suggest that alternatives are possible raises the question of whether feminism itself can altogether avoid the trap of turning women into stereotypes, turning the specific example of woman into a universal model, in its own efforts to represent women. Communication demands the particular; it is not possible to refer to everything at once. At the same time, judgements that arise from the use of those particulars are always to some extent faulty - inaccurate or incomplete, too particular or too general. This applies as much to aesthetics (models of beauty) as it does to politics (another matter of representation). What is at issue here is the entire problematic of inclusion and exclusion, whether in politics or aesthetics. Focusing on the significance of Kant's reliance on woman as an example in the Critique of Judgement , Elam argues that it would be a mistake to dismiss all aesthetic discourses of beauty as ploys on the part of patriarchy to keep women for men's eyes only. The Critique of Judgement stands to be useful to feminism because it demonstrates that the problem of the example cannot be solved by striving for the perfect representation of woman - either an inclusive aesthetics or a fully representational politics - or even by overcoming the use of examples altogether. Rather, taking 'woman' as an example stages both aesthetic and political questions about representation that call attention to the challenges feminism faces in its attempt to form political communities.

韩国政府在制定国家品牌形象战略的过程中,缺乏对国家品牌哲学和韩国文化美学的真诚反省。本文将探讨通过确立文化认同建立韩国国家品牌这一课题。为此,笔者将从三方面进行论述:第一,考察传统文化和国家认同的相互关系;第二,讨论关于对传统文化的再认识和将传统文化的哲学和美学符号化的方案;第三,讨论关于通过传统文化和韩流的融合提升国家品牌的方案。     

叙述的权力：先锋小说的政治美学阐释

先锋小说以非政治化为诉求的话语变革,是20世纪中国小说中的重要现象.在先锋小说的叙事话语之中隐含着政治话语,叙述艺术表现了特殊的政治美学.先锋小说对"意识流"的发现,揭示了一个政治无法彻底统治的内心世界的存在,颠覆了政治的理性统治.存在的探索和存在感的凸显,还原了现实政治的真相,表现了特别的政治精神.先锋小说的"卑微观点",则从"小"角度解构政治意识形态的"大话".叙事视点本身的显现,构成了小说叙事话语的自赎,是对叙事权力本身的反思和反叛.先锋叙事的政治智慧,也可以反观政治美学的深层结构.     

当代大众文化生成的语境分析

大众文化是依据一定的商业利益原则被大规模地“制造”出来的。它在当下时代的生成是一个具有深远影响的事件。现代版“图腾崇拜”的大众文化生成的语境包括:现代美学内涵的被颠覆,“新美学”的流行;后现代(含后殖民)平面化狂欢;消费主义的盛行;大众传媒及文化媒介人的操纵等。
