Fact Checking is About What we Change not Just Who we Reach

This article explores how the UK’s fact-checking organisation Full Fact has sought to tackle misinformation since its inception in 2010. Full Fact describes itself as a ‘second generation’ fact-checking organisation with dual aims of seeking to stop the spread of specific pieces of inaccurate information and using the evidence base from fact checking to secure systemic changes that help make misinformation rarer and less harmful. Ultimately, we are pursuing culture change. We are trying to create institutions in societies that can help anchor public debate to reality and to challenge the casual acceptance of deceptive and misleading behaviour.     

论我国刑事错案责任追究制度的完善 ——以侦查机关为视角

我国刑事错案追究制度自实行以来,其运用的合理性以及有效性一直饱受争议。从侦查机关的视角考察,错案追责情况主要存在纠正程序不具体、追责程序透明度不高等相关问题。结合我国实际情况考虑,从内部制度与外部监督入手考虑设立独立的错案追究机关来进行解决是可行的,同时可从细化错案责任追究的相关程序、明晰实体责任性质的认定标准、建立健全办案质量终身责任追究制度和建立追责程序相关信息发布机制等方面来完善刑事错案追究制度。     

Young people,friendships and gender learning: insight from student-produced microfilms and curricular implications

Friendship microfilms produced by students can be used to understand how students make their relationships meaningful. Hence, in this study, friendship microfilms made by Taiwanese students from 2000 to 2013 and uploaded on YouTube were collected and evaluated through a textual analysis aimed at deriving suggestions for relationship education curricula. Four types of narrative were identified in these films. A common theme was addressing romantic concerns among close friends and the effects that follow. The films present scenarios such as ‘I want to be more than merely your friend’ and ‘A conflict arises from a love triangle’, and the predicaments related to trust, honesty, loyalty and supportiveness that consequently arise. The films also reveal the anxiety of gay adolescents trapped in dilemmas involving being neither a love interest nor a best friend and wondering whether to come out of the closet. Moreover, the practices of homosociality in the film manifest gender differences. On the basis of the research findings, this paper provides suggestions for gender and relationship education.     

Bernard Crick: citizenship and democracy in the United Kingdom

Bernard Crick's contribution to citizenship studies can be regarded as part of the tradition so ably represented by T.H. Marshall. I want to argue in this brief article on Crick that on the one hand he is part of the ‘golden age’ of political philosophy that has flourished in the English-speaking world over the last two or three decades, but on the other his work also shows the limitations of that tradition, at least from the perspective of comparative and historical studies in political sociology. His work was unquestionably ‘local’ in its focus on the subject of Scottish independence and the viability of the British Isles under the governance of a multi-national state.     

论公安院校学员管理工作中的情感教育

在公安院校学员管理工作中,学员管理工作者要特别重视与学员之间情感的培养。良好的情感教育能够充分地调动学员的积极性和主动性、有效地促进学员人格力量的形成和发展、增强学员的集体责任感,同时也有利于形成集体愉悦和谐的人际氛围,从而促进学员管理工作的健康发展。文章认为应当从三个方面开展情感教育工作：一、通过了解、关心、尊重学员,建立深厚的师生情感;二、情感教育过程中讲求教育方式、方法;三、为人师表,树立情感威性。     

警察院校大学生廉政意识教育长效机制的构建

警察院校大学生预备警官的特殊身份,决定了其廉政意识教育尤为重要。廉政意识教育是一个系统工程,需要建立科学的长效机制,文章着重从建立适合警察院校特点的学员思想政治工作管理体制、建立符合警察院校学员特点的教育体系和不断完善警校学员廉政意识教育的监防体系方面进行了探究。

营造感恩气氛,培养感恩意识,学会感恩,并不是要做付出与所得的价值交换,而是要更懂得尊重和珍惜。深化感恩的层次,强化感恩意识。①教会学生识恩、知恩。②教会学生知恩图报。③教会学生施恩不图报。拓宽感恩途径,实践感恩。感恩教育不仅要让学生识恩、知恩,更重要的是要学生报恩、施恩,养成感恩的品德和行为习惯。     

哲学教育与大学生创新能力培养

高校的哲学教育应当承担起培养大学生创新思维和创新能力的重任,但是,我们的教育大多还是传统的知识“传-接”型教育,没有发挥出哲学教育应有的特点和功能。高等院校要突出大学生哲学教育和创新能力相结合的培养,哲学教育应注重大学生的创新思维能力的培养。从哲学的学科性质以及哲学教育的本性和方法论意义来看,发展学生的创新思维能力是哲学教育的重要功能。辩证唯物主义哲学给了我们进行创新思维的世界观基础。
