A wave of psychological forces in second language learning： An Arabic experience at IIUM

Psychological bases of success deal with relatively inner-self factors. The paper presents basic understandings of learning process as well as a model of identifying factors of second language learning success. There are a number of reasons why some students learn Arabic much more quickly than the others. Learner＇s psychological situation is one of the most expected determination factor. Therefore, its nature has to be described, its function needs to be identified and analyzed, especially in term of motivating students to have better performance in learning Arabic as a second language in the context of International Islamic University Malaysia （IIUM）.     

由公安院校学员个性素质状况引发的思考

文章通过对公安院校学员个性素质状况的测试研究,认为当前公安院校男、女学员与全国普通院校大学生比较存在着非常显著性的差异。其中,公安院校男学员与全国普通院校男大学生的差异尤为显著,反映了公安院校学员个性素质结构的相对独特性。公安院校学员整体个性素质偏低,难以适应未来公安工作压力的现状,由此引发了对公安院校现行管理机制的思考,这将是今后公安院校教育管理深化改革所面临的重要课题。     

Severity of neurocognitive impairment in women who have experienced intimate partner violence in Spain

This study examines neuropsychological impairment in women who have experienced intimate partner violence using DSM 5 criteria for mild and severe cognitive impairment. A total of 108 females in Spain were included in one of three groups: psychological abuse (n = 24), physical and psychological abuse (n = 45), and no-abuse (n = 39). There were differences between the control and IPV groups in attention and executive functioning. Furthermore, approximately 25% of women experiencing IPV suffer mild neuropsychological alterations and 5% severe, mostly in memory and executive function domains. This evidence supports the growth in research that suggests psychological violence on its own to be as strongly related to poor health outcomes as physical violence in intimate partner relationships.     

Previous judicial detection and paedophilic sexual interest partially predict psychological distress in a non-forensic sample of help-seeking men feeling inclined to sexually offend against children

Little is known about overall psychological distress in paedophiles who are not formally involved with the criminal justice system. Since knowledge in this context could help to optimise intervention efforts, this study aimed to examine the association between distress as measured with the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) and preference- and offence-related variables in a sample of N?=?455 men self-reporting sexual interest in children, of whom 402 were diagnosed as paedophiles. Results showed that 59% reported clinically relevant levels of distress, with paedophiles being significantly more distressed than teleiophiles. A regression analysis revealed that a paedophilic preference and prior detection were relevant predictors for distress. However, past offending behaviour had no impact and the major part of variance could not be explained. The results suggest that paedophilia is associated with distress, but other factors influence whether a paedophilic man is distressed on a clinically significant level.     

侦查理论与实务几个问题的探讨

我国《刑事诉讼法》的修改必须考虑到中国的实际情况,应避免立法主张上浓厚的理想主义色彩;我国正酝酿着侦查理念的一次变革和飞跃,但相应的制度和经费保障能不能到位,对此有着直接的影响;“命案必破”的提法虽有积极作用,但其负面作用日益凸显,因此应停止使用;处置劫持人质案件的培训工作应有计划性和整体规范;对心理画像结论的准确性、具体性和可靠性程度应该有客观的认识,不能对其怀有过高的期望。     

赋权与规制：我国检察机关撤回起诉制度之构建

撤回起诉虽然不是刑事诉讼的一个必经程序,但它确是一种诉讼的过滤机制和补救措施,也是终止诉讼的特殊方式。现代世界许多国家和地区都在立法上规定了撤回起诉制度。我国刑事诉讼法再修改时,应当在立法上明确赋予检察机关撤回起诉的权力,并构建出具有我国特色的撤回起诉制度,使检察机关名正言顺地行使撤回起诉权,并保障检察机关撤回起诉制度公正、规范、统一的实施。     

增权理论视阈下对新生代农民工城市融入的介入

新生代农民工的城市融入性问题已成为影响城市发展、成果公平分享和中国社会良性转型的重大现实问题,运用增权理论对新生代农民工的城市融入性问题进行解读,自身权能的缺失和无权感使他们难以对城市社会产生归属感,解决这一问题的有效途径就是通过社会工作的干预和帮助,挖掘其潜能,从个体层面、人际关系层面、社会参与层面增强对权利的认识,减少或消除无权感、无助感,实现增权。即个体层面的增权：提升主体意识,增强认同感;人际关系层面的增权：扩大社会交往的范围,提升社会交往的层次;社会参与层面的增权：完善社会参与渠道,增强话语权。从个人能力、人际交往、社会参与三个方面进行增权,使之更好地融入城市社会。
