Abstract

This paper looks at the continuities and changes in the nature of election campaigns in Britain since 1900 by focusing on the way campaigning has changed and become more professional and marketing driven. The piece discusses the ramifications of these developments in relation to the Labour Party's ideological response to mass communication and the role now played by external media in the internal affairs of this organisation. The paper also seeks to assess how campaigns have historically developed in a country with an almost continuous, century long cycle of elections.     

英国女性囚犯的现状研究及其启示

随着英国成为西欧女性监禁率最高的国家,其在女性囚犯的管理方式和制度的问题和诟病逐渐显现出来。英国监狱制度一向被认为是比较完善和系统的,但是英国女性囚犯在监狱中遭受着持续暴力、药物滥用、脱衣搜身制度、男性主导的监狱文化以及与家庭沟通的过度限制,给她们的身心生活均造成了严重而持久的影响,导致监狱内精神疾病和自杀现象频发,但同时也引起了替代羁押刑及措施的研究和应用。这给同样处于女性囚犯数量持续增长现状的中国敲响警钟,我们应当重视以下对策研究:建设个性化的女子监狱;不断完善离监探亲制度;加强社区矫正制度的应用。     

丘逢甲与南洋华侨

丘逢甲是中国近代史上的著名爱国人士,由于志向相同,他与新加坡著名华侨丘菽园多有交往,情谊深厚.丘逢甲的爱国思想和对南洋华侨的关心,通过丘菽园及他所创办的<天南新报>传递到南洋华侨社会.1900年丘逢甲受命下南洋宣慰华侨,在南洋各地发表演说,呼吁尊孔教、办学堂,在南洋华侨中产生了广泛的影响.     

The Room and the Street: Gwen John’s and Jean Rhys’s Insider/Outsider Modernism

The modernist city is commonly thought of as a city of exteriors; we envision the ‘spaces of modernity’ as sites of industry or leisure, and apply the very notion of the ‘urban’—urban planning, urban studies—to the way we approach public spaces. But by reading together the paintings of Gwen John (1876–1939) and the writings of Jean Rhys (1890–1979), we discern a different modernist story than we are used to hearing—one that collapses divisions between the room and the street, the private and the public. By focusing on tropes of rooms in their works, the author seeks to nuance our understanding of John’s and Rhys’s relationship to community from within the supposed safety or isolation of their interior rooms, and argues more broadly for a women’s modernism of the city that collapses divisions between the room and the street, the private and the public. These two figures, who are usually read as ‘outsiders’ to mainstream modernist culture, produce a distinct ‘insider/outsider’ aesthetic which reveals them to be working not outside, but at the very heart of modernist experimentation.     

Victory without power: The Pm-Pendulum forecast

The “PM and Pendulum” model was adjusted for the 2015 General Election to take account of the Liberal-Democratic participation in government and the SNP surge. So adjusted, the model predicts a Tory vote victory by 3.4 percent over Labour. The seat forecast puts the Tories ahead with 287 seats to 263 for Labour, with 41 for the SNP. Thus another Hung Parliament! Ex-post estimates show that without the Lib-Dem adjustments the model would have predicted a Conservative majority.     

战后马来西亚华人社会变迁对华文教育的影响

华文教育是马来西亚华人维系族群认同,保持族群特性的重要途径。长期以来,华人社会的坚持和守护都是华文教育得以生存和立足的根本。但二战以来,华人社会内部出现了一系列对华文教育发展影响重大的变化。这些变化涉及众多领域,文章主要从华人认同、华教相关社团及华人人口要素三个方面阐述华社内部的具体变化及其对华文教育发展的影响。文章认为,虽然华社内部出现了多种不利于华文教育发展的变化,但华人守卫华教事业的决心并未发生根本变化。     

对英国保释制度的考察与借鉴

英国作为保释制度的发源地,从其产生、发展到形成、完善．历经百年风雨曲折。时至今日,这一制度仍然焕发着勃勃生机,无论是法律规范、还是运行实效都无可争论地处于世界法治国家前列,其发展趋势也在相当程度上代表了保释制度未来改革的世界方向。同时。保释制度更是以自由保障和无罪推定为理论基础、体现着维持控辩平等、提高诉讼效益的价值追求。其对我国的取保候审制度未来的完善与发展具有参考价值。     

中国对东南亚华侨华人的研究动态——以新近出版的专著为例

本文对2001-2006年间中国大陆出版的华侨华人学术著作进行了较为全面的梳理,并着重对有关东南亚华侨华人的研究成果进行了分析和评述.     

司法鉴定基本理论之再检讨

司法鉴定应当具有主体特殊性、对象专门性、启动被动性和结果科学性四个基本特征 ,为此 ,建立鉴定人资格确认和审查制度十分必要 ;限定鉴定对象的范围也应成为鉴定制度的要素。强调鉴定程序启动的被动性有利于保持鉴定的中立性 ,并划清鉴定权和司法权的界限 ;强调鉴定结果的科学性则有利于确定鉴定的效力制度。     

清代缅甸华侨商业网与“伊洛瓦底沿江市场体系”

华侨在缅甸的商业经营已久,到19世纪下半叶,以闽籍、粤籍和滇籍为主的华商已经在伊洛瓦底江沿江建立了一个水运繁忙、港口密布、从业人员众多、分工有序和贸易量大的相当发达的商业网,并延伸到两岸的腹地和山区。这个商业网与中国云南一侧相通,形成了一个“伊洛瓦底沿江市场体系”。
