China's Politics and Bilateral Trade Linkages

Abstract

China's position in the world economy during the past half-century provides vital information for investigating the relation between politics and trade. Although there is a substantial number of studies in this area, the current study extends the literature in at least three ways: (1) it is one of the first studies that investigates the problem of a potential sample selection bias—as a result of the fact that countries taken up in the analysis are not randomly sampled from all countries in the world; (2) it considers third-country effects that follow from the fact that China's relation with any two countries is affected by the relation between these countries themselves; and (3) it tests the impact of five political arrangements simultaneously, which is more comprehensive than any former study. By using data as to 78 of China's trade partners over the 1950–2002 period, this study provides empirical evidence for the hypotheses that the establishment of diplomatic relations, cooperation, visits of heads of states and political system similarity are associated with greater trade flows. The hypothesis that member countries of a Preferential Trading Agreement have had smaller trade flows with China, which is no member of any of these Preferential Trading Agreements, is not supported by the results.

日本货物进出口贸易协调性的动态分析及启示

日本货物出口与进口之间是否存在协同均衡增长的动态发展关系,是否存在维持进出口内在均衡的机制,文章基于2008年—2012年的月度数据进行了实证分析。协整检验结果表明,日本货物出口与进口存在长期稳定的协整关系。从误差修正模型看,短期内日本货物出口与进口之间存在动态调整机制。根据格兰杰因果关系检验,日本货物出口与日本货物进口存在单向和双向因果关系。脉冲响应函数分析表明,日本货物出口的某一冲击会给日本货物进口增长带来同向冲击。实证结果表明在垂直专业化分工背景下,尽管自动调节机制可以使日本货物进出口向长期均衡调整,但是由于全球需求放缓、向海外转移生产基地、日元持续升值和东日本大地震等不确定因素的综合影响,日本沦为经常项目逆差国的可能性正在加大。     

太平洋战争期间日本对东南亚的贸易统制研究

1941年日本在发动太平洋战争的同时,开始对东南亚地区实行贸易统制政策,采取政府出台相关政策、军队和企业具体实施的方针,通过滥发军票等方式,以较低的价格进口东南亚各地的重要资源。日本的贸易统制政策虽然在短期内使日本与东南亚各地之间的贸易急剧增长,但却严重破坏了东南亚各地的产业结构和对外贸易,给东南亚各国造成巨大损失。     

违反《工会法》的法律责任

违反《工会法》应当承担相应的法律责任。修改后的《工会法》对阻挠职工依法参加和组织工会 ,打击报复工会工作人员 ,侵占工会经费、财产 ,妨碍工会依法履行职责以及工会工作人员损害职工和工会权益等行为 ,规定了责任人应负的行政责任、民事责任和刑事责任。对《工会法》和党的工运方针政策的落实 ,对职工和工会相关权利的实现 ,将起到重要的法律保障作用     

浅析新时期高校学生干部的培养

高校学生工作是学校整体教育的重要组成部分，是贯彻党的教育方针，培养“德、智、体等全而发展的社会主义事业的建设者和接班人”的关键环节。而高校学生干部是学生工作的重要力量。是联系学校党政部门和学生的纽带。学生干部队伍的素质直接关系到高校学生的整体素质。学生干部队伍的工作水平又直接影响着高校学生工作的实际效果。在高校学生管理工作中起着举足轻重的作用。加强高校学生干部队伍建设，是高校工作的一项重点工作和长远任务。     

全球环境法学界的盛事——世界自然保护联盟环境法学院成立典礼暨首届学术年会综述

20 0 3年 1 1月世界最大的环境保护团体———世界自然保护联盟 (IUCN)在中国上海成立了一个类似于海牙国际法学院那样的环境法高级学术机构———世界自然保护联盟环境法学院。作为该盛事承办单位的中方协调人 ,本文作者对在上海交通大学举行的世界自然保护联盟 (IUCN)环境法学院成立典礼暨该学院首届学术年会的盛况做了全面的介绍和评论     

Civil Society,Environmental Security and Knowledge: Forest Governance in Thailand and the Philippines in the Context of ASEAN

In the domain of environmental security, it appears that a strong civil society, one with strong social ingenuity and social capital, is a necessary condition not only for environmental security, but also for regional security in general. This paper will argue that in the context of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), much can be learned from the empirical experiences of Thailand and the Philippines that have established records of accomplishment in civil society participation in forest governance. Also discussed is the possible role of epistemic communities both within these countries as well as across countries in the ASEAN in harnessing institutions of knowledge to influence domestic and regional governance of forest resources.
