This article provides both historical and ethnographic views of Eastern religion in Lithuania. The historical component is an examination of the evolution of Lithuanian interest in Eastern religions from nineteenth-century studies of Indo-European comparative linguistics and mythology, which linked pre-Christian Lithuanian religion with India and Hinduism, to increasing literary, scholarly and popular interest in India and Asia in the twentieth century, before, during and after Soviet occupation. The ethnographic aspect utilizes fieldwork and interviews to examine three Eastern-inspired religious movements, (Pagan) Romuva, (Hindu) Krishna Consciousness, and (Buddhist) Diamond Way, demonstrating three different adaptations of Eastern religion in Lithuania.  相似文献

从公产法角度而言,对于宗教财产的定位和研究,更突显一种以财产的目的性用途为导向的宗教财产规制模式。宗教财产的所有权问题(归属问题)不再成为宗教财产规制的首要问题。从维持宗教财产的目的性用途与保护其使用者群体的使用利益而言,公产法的解释与建构,比单纯的考虑将宗教财产纳入社团法人所有的财产或者是财团法人所有的财产,依靠所有权理论的解释,无疑具有更大的优势。我国的宗教财产立法的传统和现实以"重在管理,回避所有,强化监督,保障使用"为基本特点,现行宗教财产法律规制也更接近于公产法上的解释。  相似文献

消费社会理论是鲍德里亚早期思想的重要组成部分,理论的产生是以社会从生产社会向以符号为中介的消费社会的结构性转变为基础的。鲍德里亚揭示了消费社会的双重变化:即物品的使用价值的没落和符号价值的凸显;作为消费主体的人的主体性的丧失和异化。同时,鲍德里亚探讨了当今以广告为代表的技术媒介在消费社会中的支配作用及其与符号逻辑的共谋性。消费社会理论的现实语境决定其理论具有极其重要的当代价值,其理论对于正确认识、评价渗透于当今社会各个方面的媒介技术也有一定的启示意义。  相似文献

In what sense should a liberal state be neutral between the conceptions of the good held by its citizens? Traditionally, liberals have provided two different answers to this question. Some have adopted a conception of neutrality of justification, while others a conception of neutrality of effects. Recently, Alan Patten has defended an alternative, novel and sophisticated, conception of neutrality – neutrality of treatment. In this article I assess whether neutrality of treatment is, in fact, a superior conception of neutrality. I try to show that neutrality of treatment suffers from the very same weaknesses that Patten attributes to its alternatives and that, overall, neutrality of justification, properly construed, provides a more promising account of both the sense in which a state ought to be neutral and of the object of neutrality. Finally, I argue for a broader account of the normative bases of liberal neutrality than the one proposed by Patten. This account includes, beyond considerations of fairness, a relational principle of equal standing.  相似文献

In this article I describe and analyse non-institutionalized religious education among local women in Uzbekistan. I argue that while exhibiting vestiges of ‘traditional’ objectives, methods of teaching, and models of knowledge transmission, and incorporating elements of educational reforms advocated by the Central Asian reformers in the early 1900s, and of Soviet pedagogy, the dynamics of such education foster students' critical thinking. By enabling students to think critically about their lives and social environment, the non-institutionalized religious education does not have one predetermined outcome, but ensures social change that starts on an individual level, whereby a student can, but does not have to, engage politically with the state, which systematically intervenes in shaping its citizens' religious lives.  相似文献

Does religious commitment have a common political impact across national frontiers? To date, that question has been explored empirically only for Roman Catholics, who might be expected to behave similarly because of centralizing resources in their tradition. This article explores the extent of transnational political attitudes among Jews in the United States and Israel, two groups with less centralized authority structures and radically different religious situations. Parallel surveys of Jews in the United States and Israel, analyzed by OLS regression with the slope dummy approach, indicate that Jewish religiosity has a common influence on most political issues but often has much sharper effects in one society than the other. Given our expectation that Jews would exhibit lower levels of transnational similarity than Roman Catholics, the findings reinforce scholars who perceive religion as a potent transnational political factor.  相似文献
