本文通过分析新加坡高校人文素质教育的特色和经验,对比目前我国高校人文素质教育中存在的不足,借鉴新加坡的经验,提出以传承本国优秀文化、增强国民意识、增进大学生对我国历史和文化传统的认同感等为重点,进一步加强和改进大学生的人文素质教育,全面提高人才的培养质量.     

谈公安院校学生档案内容的改革

随着公安教育体制和学校内部管理体制的改革,公安院校学生档案的内容已不适应公安教育工作的需要。本文旨在通过对学生档案内容改革的阐述,强调公安院校作为培养现代警官的基地,应该适应新时期向教育要素质、要警力的要求,培养２１世纪公安工作的合格人才。     

高校心理健康教育面临的问题与对策

高校大学生心理健康教育面临的问题主要有:学校重视不够,使心理健康教育发展迟缓;理论研究薄弱,心理健康教育没有科学规范的理论体系,实践中缺乏理论指导;专业人员缺乏,心理健康教育专职化、科学化水平不高;心理健康教育工作的现有模式不能适应社会发展,需要变革。加强大学生的心理健康教育,可采取以下措施:必须使心理健康成为全社会的共识,让家庭教育、学校教育、自我教育形成合力;整合利用教育资源,将心理健康教育贯穿在学校的各项工作中;重视理论研究,推进心理健康教育课程化;建设一支稳定的、高素质的心理健康教育的师资队伍,使心理健康教育工作走向专业化轨道。     

Beyond Polls: Using Science and Student Data to Stimulate Learning

In an effort to promote learning in classrooms, political science instructors are increasingly turning to interactive teaching strategies — experiments, simulations, etc. — that supplement traditional lecture formats. In this article, I advocate the use of student-generated data as a powerful teaching tool that can be used in a variety of ways to support learning. The “data-driven classroom” is one in which original student data are collected via survey at the beginning of the course and the results presented throughout the term. Examples and case studies across multiple courses and classroom settings are used to illustrate how the method may be applied in practice. Feedback from student assessment surveys reveals strong support for the method, even among nonmajors. The article concludes with recommendations for instructors interested in creating more data-driven classrooms.     

Is an Early Start the Best Start?: Evaluating the Effectiveness of a Political Science Summer Bridge Program

Summer bridge programs are supposed to connect a graduating high school senior’s summer to their first semester in college, easing the transition away from home and into a university setting. Our proposed study mitigates these flaws by employing a nonequivalent-groups quasi-experiment (NEG). Our bridge program—called Early Start (ES)— tapped into social, emotional, and academic engagement, as we sought to integrate the students into the university and school communities while holding high expectations and actively involving them in their own learning (Tinto 2004 Tinto, Vincent. 2004. Student Retention and Graduation-Facing the Truth, Living with the Consequences. Washington, DC: The Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education. [Google Scholar]). Results suggest that not only were students enrolled in our program better socially and emotionally integrated into the university during their first year but they also scored better on content-based political science questions at the end of the fall semester, compared to their non-Early Start peers. Finally, aggregated data indicate an increase in retention for Early Start participants.     

Decolonising the University: The Origins and Meaning of a Movement

This article responds to the contemporary debates in UK higher education about the need to ‘decolonise the curriculum’, with particular attention to the implications for the discipline of history. The author positions these important debates as one outcome of a transnational movement led by students of colour whose grievances reach into and beyond the classroom. The first part of the article examines the origins of this movement identifying some important antecedents as well as the broader political and socio-economic forces that propelled its rise in 2015. There then follows an examination of the movement's multidimensional critique of the university sector, which includes—but is not limited to—the call to ‘decolonise the curriculum', before considering potential implications for academic workers labouring in the discipline of history.     

对大学生网络交友速度的研究

大学生网络交友的渠道有聊天室、网络游戏、网络论坛等,其中又以网络聊天为主。与传统交友相比,网络聊天交友缺少伦理制约、身份认同,存在着很大的安全隐患、情感盲区。大学生网络交友速度之快,已经没有传统朋友之间的真诚、互信。对此,我们需要加强对大学生网络交友情感的正面引导、网络安全教育,搞好网络心理咨询等。     

Commonwealth Student Exchange 1959-2019 – Planned and Unplanned

ABSTRACT

Higher education, and international student mobility, have expanded in 60 years since the Commonwealth Education Conference of 1959. It established a Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan which has funded and moved early-career scholars and mid-career fellows between Commonwealth member countries. It has done so in a context in which the number of students moving between Commonwealth countries has grown but this intra-Commonwealth movement has shrunk as a proportion of the total, just as the Commonwealth has lost its political and economic significance. The scholarship plan expanded up to the 1990s, with students travelling from virtually all Commonwealth countries, mainly but not entirely to Australia, Britain, Canada and New Zealand. From the 1990s the plan has shrunk with Australia and Canada ending their awards and Britain limiting them to developing countries. Its purpose has moved from one of promoting Commonwealth cohesion to one of supporting development within the south. Its history demonstrates the way in which changing political circumstances have driven student mobility and shaped its geography.     

当代大学生价值取向功利化的文化历史探究

当代大学生的价值取向存在明显的功利化倾向,这是历史上功利主义文化的再现与蔓延。“知识改变命运”观念使大学生学习目的急功近利,成为价值取向功利化的“催化剂”,现行教育体制的片面追求升学率、大学生就业难、高校培养方式与评价标准的导向偏差等矛盾和问题成为价值取向功利化的“温床”。功利主义文化的再现与蔓延阻碍了大学生对于崇高精神境界的追求,影响社会主流文化,应该高度警惕功利主义思潮导致的文化危机。     

微博在高校思想政治教育工作中的应用研究

作为网络的媒体,微博对社会的影响巨大。微博高科技、新鲜原创、交互性强等特点与大学生群体本身所具有的高素质、年轻活跃、参与性强等特点相契合,使微博在大学生的普及和受欢迎程度远超社会其他人群。这同时对高校思想政治教育工作提出了新要求,即充分认识微博带来的社会政治文化影响,真正找到将思想政治教育微博式传播的良好方式和路径。
