University's development style is formed in long term, and it is unique and better than others in some aspects. The grand business and management embodies the main stem of modern business and management, crossing and including of multidisciplines in school-running characteristics. In this paper, we began with the concepts of business and business discipline, and employed the Zhejiang Gongshang University as a case to illustrate the definition, reason, and features of grand business and management. The conclusions are that, grand business and management is university's efforts for education, research, service, and culture cultivating to meet the direct and indirect needs of business activities. The features of grand business and management of Zhejiang Gongshang University are combination of industry and business, and nurturing under culture. There are many such cases in their education, research, service, and culture cultivating activities. The Apalachin meeting of recognized underworld leaders from cities across the USA was held in upstate New York on November 14, 1957. The event, well known to historians and justice system officials, has become a textbook case rarely examined for its larger context of how American government officials learned to confront the organization and strength of the American Mafia, later called La Cosa Nostra (LCN). From 1957 to 1967, three presidents, four attorneys general, and hundreds of federal agents and prosecutors traveled an obstacle-filled path toward investigating, indicting, prosecuting, and convicting Apalachin attendees and their successors. Steps were taken to challenge the power of the mob during the Eisenhower and Kennedy administrations, but they were consistently plagued by false starts, frustrations, and side steps. Each obstacle further instructed policy makers, however, on the need for an intensive and coordinated effort grounded in common goals and interagency cooperation. This article considers six key obstacles to the decade-long quest for a concerted federal initiative against organized crime. It examines how the characteristics and the impact of each obstacle contributed to a meandering and slothful federal response to the Mafia’s power. Lessons learned about how to effectively attack the mob were finally implemented in May 1966 when President Johnson institutionalized Executive agency cooperation, making the Attorney General (AG) the focal point in the war on organized crime. One element in this new initiative was known as the ‘Buffalo Project,’ an experiment commencing officially in January 1967 in Buffalo, New York to concentrate intelligence, investigations, and prosecutive resources working across bureaucratic lines to pursue guilty pleas or convictions. The Project, a closely supervised operation directed by the Justice Department’s Organized Crime and Racketeering Section (OCRS), was conceptualized as a small team of supervisory federal investigators and experienced prosecutors who built cases against local Mafia associates and leaders to withstand the scrutiny of the federal justice system. Assistance was also rendered by state, local, and international organizations. The Project formed a template for the DoJ Criminal Division’s Strike Force program.

How can we deal with the apparent contradiction between the normative ideals of critical theory and the practice of the current university system? To answer this question, I consult three classical criticisms of the university system: At the beginning of the nineteenth century, the French educator Joseph Jacotot formulated a pedagogical critique of the disciplinary effects of the educational system; at the beginning of the twentieth century, German historian Franz Rosenzweig articulated an ethical critique of the hegemonic educational system’s distance from life; and at the beginning of the twentyfirst century, British feminist Sara Ahmed proposed a political critique of the oppressing functions of academic institutions. Taken together, these critiques can serve as an orientation for critical intellectual practice even within the academic system. Finally, I try to describe the relation between critical theory and the university thus evolving by utilising Stefano Harney’s and Fred Moten’s concept of the “undercommons”.  相似文献

在新时期,探索和构建高校学生社会实践全员化的育人模式,对于增强实践育人效果,进一步加强和改进大学生思想政治教育十分必要。高校学生社会实践对广大高校学生坚定理想信念、提升责任意识、增强就业能力、完善个人素质等方面具有较强的育人功能。当前,高校学生社会实践育人模式已不适应时代发展需要。因此,建立高校学生社会实践全员化育人模式必须通过树立高校学生社会实践全员化的工作理念、建立高校学生社会实践全员化的工作机制、营造高校学生社会实践全员化的社会氛围等来实现。  相似文献
