Young people who sexually abuse: the Scottish context

This paper describes the policy and legal context in Scotland in respect of alleged young sexual abusers and considers the challenges encountered by decision-makers, particularly reporters operating in the Scottish children's hearings system. These include the nature of the problem, resources, child witnesses and corroboration. It is argued that reporters, in considering whether or not to refer an alleged young sexual abuser to a children's hearing or to take no action, encounter influences in both directions, but on balance there appear to be more obstacles in the way of a referral to a hearing.

外来务工青少年犯罪心理的生成有其主体和环境两方面的原因。主体方面受错误的人生观、不健全的认知结构、较差的消极情绪控制能力、明显的个体矛盾性、法律意识淡薄、较低的犯罪感等因素的控制;环境方面受家庭因素、学校因素、社会因素等因素的影响。全面分析这些因素,有助于了解外来务工青少年犯罪心理产生的原因和演进过程,对防范外来务工青少年犯罪大有裨益。     

当代青年学生接受社会思潮的方式流变与对策

青年学生与社会思潮之间是一个双向互动,双向建构的过程。当代青年学生对社会思潮接受方式的变化表现在接触领域的生活化趋向,接受时空的交错与压缩趋向,接受层次的感性化趋向和接受过程的散点化与渗透性趋向。对青年学生社会思潮的教育要注重主流意识形态显性引导与隐性渗透相结合,注重青年学生社会思潮辨别能力和主体意识的培养,注重社会思潮影响下青年学生教育方式的生活化建构。     

青少年抵制“三俗”文化弘扬文化新风对策浅论

目前＂三俗＂文化充斥着社会的各个角落,如放任自流,传统的优秀道德文化就难以继承和发扬,先进文化的前进方向就会迷失,青少年就会感到无所适从;＂三俗＂文化之所以泛滥,有其侵扰的生存土壤;抵制＂三俗＂文化,首要的任务就是在全社会弘扬＂三气＂,即浩气、雅气、骨气;抵制＂三俗＂、弘扬＂三气＂,青少年须先行。

师德自觉是高校青年教师的文明素养,是社会主义核心价值观在教师身上的本质体现和外在表现。教师优良的道德品行和道德习惯,源于他们内在的素质自觉和外在的行为自律。高校青年教师师德自觉,不仅是高校办学质量的重要元素和高校未来发展的重要依托,而且是青年教师自身健康成长和充分发展的重要抓手。增强高校青年教师师德自觉,关键要加强师德教育:一是加强政治道德教育,增强高校青年教师政治道德自觉之基;二是加强职业道德教育,增强高校青年教师职业道德自觉之本;三是加强学术道德教育,增强高校青年教师学术道德自觉之源。高校青年教师必须以加强师德教育为抓手,以师德自觉为准绳,勇于担当起政治道德自觉、职业道德自觉、学术道德自觉的责任和使命,成为师德自觉的践行者和表率,为中国高等教育事业的发展提供不竭动力。

Britain and Europe: An Unforgettable Past and an Unavoidable Future

The title of this article is taken from the opening lines of Hugo Young's brilliant history of Britain's relationship with Europe, This Blessed Plot . That book begins with a sentence that says it all: 'This is the story of 50 years in which Britain struggled to reconcile the past she could not forget with the future she could not avoid.' Those words were written in the spring of 1998. Despite the early promise of Tony Blair's European policy, little has changed since. For France and Germany, the institutions of Europe represent a uniquely successful attempt to exorcise the past. For its part, Britain lives in the shadow of its history.
The struggle to reconcile national identity with strategic interests is as acute as it has ever been. For all that Mr Blair's government has done something in recent years to make Britain's case in Europe, it has failed to make Europe's case in Britain.     

新生代农民工就业信息获取渠道中的断裂现象

本文认为新生代农民工在就业信息获取渠道中存在三种断裂现象:乡村社会信息系统与城市社会信息系统之间、农民工的社会关系网络与城市社会关系网络之间、农民工管理组织和大众媒介信息传播之间。由此笔者还提出了信息洞这一概念。     

From Young Turks to modern Turkey: the story of Hüseyin Aziz Akyürek (Aziz Bey), the last director of the Ottoman General Security Service

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of modern Turkey, was one of the early leaders of the Young Turk movement. Nevertheless, when he founded modern Turkey as a nation-state he pushed the veterans of the Young Turks aside, as their pan-Turanian ideology no longer suited the basics of the new state. The leaders of the Young Turks represented the past and their perceptions no longer corresponded with the change of circumstances and the new objects of the nascent state. While Armenian activists assassinated some of the top leaders of the Young Turks as a revenge for the Armenian genocide, second-rank leaders had now to find their way in modern Turkey. Aziz Bey was one of the seniors of the Ottoman security system during the Young Turks period and eventually reached the most senior position of director of the Ottoman General Security Service. When modern Turkey emerged, because of his remarkable talents, he managed to fit in middle-level positions in the new state (province governor, mayor and MP), but never regained elite status.     

Familial Correlates of Overt and Relational Aggression between Young Adolescent Siblings

Multi-group confirmatory factor analysis and multi-group structural equation modeling were used to test correlates of overt and relational aggression between young adolescent siblings across four groups (i.e., male/male, male/female, female/male, and female/female sibling pairs), using 433 predominately European American families. Similar patterns of associations were found across groups when distinguished by gender composition. Family environment emerged as an important factor in explaining internalizing problems as well as overt/relational aggression for both younger and older siblings. While perceived maternal psychological control was significantly positively related to overt/relational aggression and internalizing problems for younger siblings, it was significantly positively associated with only relational aggression for older siblings. Findings also provided partial support for the positive linkages between young adolescents’ aggression and their own and siblings’ internalizing problems above and beyond the aforementioned family and maternal variables. Results of the current study extend the understanding of adolescent aggression to a new relational context, or among siblings, and highlight the role of family factors in promoting or buffering the impact of aggression on internalizing behaviors.
