Constructivist perspectives contend that individuals actively extract and make meaning from the world around them. In the classroom this means that students are not passive recipients or repositories for our theories and empirical findings; instead, they actively redefine and relate to (or not) the concepts presented. To simultaneously stimulate and build on this process, I adopted Photovoice as a pedagogical tool to situate students as observers of their own community and create space for them to engage in participatory, community-focused meaning making activities. By employing strategically crafted framing questions, students generated Photovoice data that served as a powerful jumping off point for discussing key community psychology concepts. In addition, the Photovoice process provided students the opportunity to directly experience a participatory research process as well as engage in basic qualitative data analysis. One of the key tasks of soil analysis in forensic sciences is to provide information about its diversities and geolocation. In fact, soil analysis is relevant for forensic geologists. In this study, a total of 80 soil samples were collected from eight Chinese cities (10 samples per city). Different minerals and their relative percentages were analyzed by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) method. In addition, the relative amounts of montmorillonite, kaolinite, amphibole, feldspar, calcite, and dolomite provided information about the origin of a soil, either if it came from a northern or southern city of China. The oxide weight percentages of 10 elements of Al2O3, SiO2, Fe2O3, K2O, Na2O, MgO, CaO, P2O5, MnO, and TiO2 were also obtained by using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) from the 80 soil samples. Moreover, principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) methods were performed for dimensionality reduction, elemental marker identification and soils classification to the city they came from purposes. The eighty soils analyzed in this study could be tracked correctly to their city of origin. The K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) model was done to evaluate the prediction ability based on the soil elemental composition, and it was confirmed by cross validation methods. The results demonstrated that mineralogical and elemental composition can provide powerful information for soil discrimination and source tracing. 相似文献

安乐死的行为 ,是由于绝症患者面临死亡在极度痛苦中挣扎而要求实施安乐死的行为 ,为患者解除痛苦 ,也是对患者要求死亡的尊重。我国现行的法律虽未对安乐死做出认可 ,但也没明文禁止。为了替寻求安详尊严的离世者打开大门 ,给实施者以法律保障 ,又不使个别心术不正的人钻空子 ,就需以法律为依据。这样做不仅可以消除实施安乐死的消极因素 ,而且符合客观发展规律 ,有利于促进社会文明进步。 相似文献

Globalisation has begun to transform the processes through which citizens are differentiated and non-citizens are excluded. This article provides an in-depth qualitative interrogation of these processes of differentiation and exclusion, and argues that the transformation in these processes compels us to reconsider the conceptual dichotomy of passive/active citizens along the stayers/mobiles distinction. This transformation is most apparent in Europe, with the introduction of European Union (EU) citizenship. The article builds on Bourdieu’s cultural capital in the cosmopolitan context, existing qualitative studies on citizens’ sense of EU identity and citizenship, and illustrative focus group evidence of visiting EU and home students’ perceptions of EU citizenship across three dimensions – identity, rights and participation. The evidence indicates that we can distinguish between four categories of citizens in the EU: passive EU citizens, including two groups of stayers; the potential EU (i) and member state-oriented (ii) citizens, and active EU citizens, including EU-15 (iii) and Central and Eastern European (iv) mobile citizens. These categories reveal that important distinctions are emerging between the perceptions and behaviour of stayers and mobiles as passive/active citizens. 相似文献
