Under new regulations established by the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 , data are now available—through the Electoral Commission—on the income, expenditure and financial health of constituency political parties. These cover all parties with an annual turnover of £25,000 or more. The returns from 263 Conservative constituency party units in England and Wales for 2004 and 2005 (the latter being a general election year) are analysed here, showing that not only are very few wealthy but that a majority implicitly operate with an annual turnover below the defined threshold. Sources of income and patterns of expenditure are analysed, as are the patterns of large donations (which have to be separately reported). In general, the greatest turnover is to be found in marginal constituencies.  相似文献

慈善捐赠是慈善事业高质量发展的基石,影响着第三次分配作用发挥。基于2014年、2016年和2018年三期CFPS调查数据,考察了互联网使用对家庭捐赠行为的影响效果及作用机制。当前互联网使用显著提高了家庭向亲属捐赠、其他人捐赠、社会捐赠的数额,同时互联网使用对上述三类捐赠的作用效果不同,具体而言对亲属捐赠的影响最大,对社会捐赠的影响次之,对其他人捐赠的影响相对较小。互联网使用通过丰富结构型社会资本和关系型社会资本提高家庭三类捐赠规模,并通过丰富认知型社会资本积累促进家庭向亲属捐赠。研究不仅深化了对“互联网+慈善”的理解,而且对促进公众参与慈善具有一定参考价值。  相似文献

The transparent disclosure of political donations is an important anti‐corruption measure. However Australia's current disclosure system has been too poor to sustain rigorous empirical analysis by either journalists or researchers. The barriers to analysis lie in the data collected and in how it is disclosed to the public. This article seeks to give an overview of the transparency problems in the disclosures. It then outlines what limited insights can be gleaned about the political donations landscape. It finds that donations are dominated by the federal election cycle, transparently declared donations make up a small and declining proportion of parties’ incomes at 12–15%, and the amount of money going entirely undisclosed is more than 50% and growing. It also finds indications of paying for access and donor strikes being used to punish government that require further research.  相似文献

公司慈善捐赠决策权源于股东权,属于股东共益权。目前我国公司慈善捐赠决策权行使主体混乱无序,致使公司慈善捐赠决策屡受质疑,公司社会责任难以承担。基于此,有必要构建股东(大)会、董事会、法定代表人以及公司慈善基金会多元化公司慈善捐赠决策权主体体系,当公司慈善捐赠决策不适当,害及到公司及其利益相关者的权利实现或违反公司所承担的社会责任时,可通过撤销诉讼与无效诉讼途径加以救济。  相似文献

After the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake, more and more scholars have showed increasing interest in corporate charitable donations. In China, enterprises, particularly private enterprises, are important forces in charitable donations. With the S share listed companies in China from 2003 to 2014 as the samples, empirical tests are made in this paper to confirm the effect of the ownership of property right on corporate donations; then based on the monetary policy, whether financing constraint influences the corporate donations is checked. Results show that compared with state-owned enterprises, the private enterprises are more strategically motivated with larger donation scale. Further study shows that monetary policy is an important element to affect the donation of private enterprises. These findings not only enrich the existing literature, but also expand research on macroeconomic policies and microcosmic firm behaviors.  相似文献

This study seeks to discuss the survivability of charitable nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in Russia without foreign funding. We use cross-sectional data from a quantitative household survey conducted in April 2016 to investigate common giving patterns of Russians. We find that Russians prefer to give directly to people in need rather than to NGOs; the donations are small, spontaneous, and irregular; they are mainly targeted to supporting the poor and the sick. Involvement in religious activities and higher self-assessed income are two factors that contribute most to the probability of donating. Educated and younger donors are more likely to donate to NGOs compared to donating to particular people/families. The study suggests that private donations to NGOs will decline if no changes in public policy are made. NGOs supporting education, environment, culture, or civil organizations seem to be worst hit.  相似文献

Courts apply the cy pres doctrine to best approximate deceased donor restrictions when these become illegal or impossible to carry out. I show, in a model of strategic donations, that a commitment to further protect deceased donor restrictions attracts more funds today at the price of inefficient allocation of funds tomorrow. The analysis identifies the benefits and costs of relaxing the doctrine, suggesting that a more flexible application by properly balancing its impact on present donations and future efficiency concerns, if feasible, would better serve to promote intergenerational social welfare.  相似文献
