Abstract: | Objective:To observe the relationship between traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome type and motilin as well as electrogastrogram in patients with diabetes gastroparesis. Method:Motilin and electrogastrogram were simultaneously measured in 20 cases of healthy subjects (HS)and 38 cases of patients with 3 different kinds of TCM syndrome type and non insulin dependent diabetes gastroparesis (DGP). Result: In DGP patients with 3 different kinds of TCM syndrome type, the level of motilin was higher than that of HS,above the average was patients with incoordination between the liver and stomach,Yin deficiency of stomach, and weakness of the spleen and stomach successively;there was a discrepancy between DGP patients with 3 different kinds of TCM syndrome type and HS in their Fp and Ap level before and after diet, the normal electrogastrogram slow wave percent and the abnormal electrogastrogram percent, which were mainly showed as the increase of delayed gastric peristalsis and the decrease of normal rate. Conclusion: The findings indicate that difference in DGP syndrome type results in variation of serum MOT content, the volume of gastric current and the function of enterogastric motility. Therefore, MOT and gastric current can be regarded as one of the objective bases in classifying DGP according to differentiation of symptoms and signs. |
