美国的越南研究

本文旨在介绍和评述19世纪以来美国的越南研究。作者认为美国的越南研究可以划分为4个主要阶段，即19世纪初到二战结束，第一次印支战争到1968年，1968年到越战结束，以及从越战结束到现在。本文的重点在于第二和第三阶段。在每一阶段内则侧重介绍代表性的学者和他们的著作和观点，并且特别关注政治与学术研究的相互影响。

American Studies of Vietnamese History

This article intends to provide a review of the Vietnamese Studies in the United States since the 19th century. The author argues that the evolution of American studies of Vietnam can be divided into the following phases： 1） from the early 19th century to 1945 ; 2 ） 1946-1968 ; 3 ） 1968-1975 ; and 4 ） since the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. The focus of this article is on the second and third phases. The article offers information and discussions on important scholars of each phase, their works and views, and pays special attention to the mutual influence of politics and academic research.
