邓小平与大别山根据地的创建

Deng Xiaoping and the Founding of the Dabieshan Base

From July to September 1947, several armed forces of the People＇ s Liberation Army switched in succession from strategic defense to strategic offense according to the strategic planning of the central committee of the Communist Party of China. The major direction of strategic offense is the region of Central Plains, especially the Dabieshan area at the south of the Central Plains. Whether or not the forces led by Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping could establish a base in the Dabieshan area was the key not only to determine whether or not the goal of strategic counter-offense could be achieved but also to affect the entire situation of the war of liberation. Deng Xiaoping showed great wisdom and exceptional leadership in establishing the Dabieshan Base and played an active role in a- chieving strategic shift in the war of people ＇ s liberation and promoting the development of Chinese revolution. In the process of establishing the Dabieshan Base, Deng Xiaoping demonstrated several personal characteristics such as bravery in shouldering responsibilities, comprehensive vision, and adeptness in drawing lessons from solid practice.
