| Institution: | Patricia A. Marshall, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Bioethics and Anthropology in the Department of Bioethics at the School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. Her research interests and publications focus on multiculturalism and bioethics practices, research ethics, and HIV prevention among injection drug users. In recent years, she has studied consent to genetic research conducted in the US. and Nigeria.;Barbara A. Koenig, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Neurology at Stanford University. An anthropologist who studies contemporary biomedicine, Koenig served for ten years as Executive Director of Stanford's Center for Biomedical Ethics, where she developed the Center's research program. Previously, she was the West Coast Research Coordinator for The Hastings Center and served on the faculty of UCSF's School of Medicine. |
