A Survey of the Cultural and Scientific Qualities of Liberal Arts Students in Institutions of Higher Teacher Education

The survey is made by the intenationally accepted standard of public scientific qualities and based on the investigation into the present condition of scientific,technological and cultural qualities of liberal arts students in institutions of higher teacher education in Jiangsu province.lt shows that liberal arts students are short of scientific and technological knowledge and poor in scientific attainment,that institutions of higher teacher educating attach no importance to education arts students in science,technology and culture and fail to make the education universal ,and that the courses of comprehensive scientific and technological knowledge have some shortcomings in the teaching content.They neglect the education in scientific methods,thinking and spirit.This survey discusses the necessity of carrying out scientific and cultural education among liberal arts students in institutions of higher teacher education,suggests the principles of choosing the content of scientific and cultural education,and puts forward the methods of and the key to the fulfillment of scientific and cultural education.
