Not necessarily mediation: The use of convening clauses in dispute systems design

Brett, and Stephen B. Goldberg in their 1988 book, Getting Disputes Resolved: Designing Systems to Cut the Costs of Conflict (San Francisco: Jossey-Bass). Brett and Ury serve as coordinators of this column, which is aimed at serving as a forum for the ongoing exchange of ideas about dispute systems design.;Karl A. Slaikeu;is the president and Ralph H. Hasson is the vice president of Chorda Conflict Management, Inc., 1717 West 6th Street, Suite 215b, Austin, Texas 78703. Chorda specializes in the design of conflict management systems, and provides training and direct services in collaborative methods of conflict resolution.
