Named "Chang," the product was developed in the Guangxi Beihai High-tech Industrial Park. It will soon be available on the market at a price of RMB 3,980 per handset. The cell phone is 47.6×84×0.8mm in size, and needs an hour of light to charge for 50 minutes of talk time. The solar battery has a lifespan of five years, far beyond that of regular cell phone batteries. The phone can be charged with sunlight, lamplight or candlelight.
