Furthermore, it has become a bridge for ethnic Chinese to invest from Southeast Asian into China since 1980. The amount of ethnic Chinese investment in Hong Kong from Southeast Asia has grown increasingly since World War II. And the ethnic Chinese businessmen have become an important part in Hong Kong economy. Despite the financial crises in Southeast Asia in 1997, most of them have managed to tide over the difficulties.
