The major challenges facing the Chinese Police in the new century are as follows:the contradiction between more and more demand of public security work and the current mechanism of public security,social changes and its influences to the political role and status of police,new circumstances of crime and its challenges to the qualities of police forces,the heavy task of maintaining social safety and its challenges to the abilities of public security organs to correctly deal with the contradictons between people and ones between us and our enemies,and so on.
