中文语境中的"族群"及其应用泛化的检讨

英文ethnicgroup这一术语引进中国后 ,普遍共识的翻译为“族群”。但中国人类学、民族学界在理解这一术语的含义和应用这一术语的实践中 ,存在对“族群”概念理解片面和应用泛化的现象。辨识ethnicgroup翻译为中文“族群”的准确性 ,同时针对台湾和大陆学界有关理解和应用“族群”概念中存在的问题 ,对“族群”应用的漫散无边和替代中文话语的“民族”等问题进行分析和质疑 ,可以为全面理解和准确应用这一源自西方发达国家以“认同”为核心的术语 (eth nicgroup)提供新的研究思路

The Concept of "Ethnic Group" in the Chinese Context and Its Over-Generalized Application

The English term"ethnic group", after its introduction into China, has been accepted as "Zu Qun" in Chinese translation. However, the concept of "Zu Qun" is often unilaterally understood and over generalized in the fields of anthropology and ethnology of China. This paper discusses the accuracy of the Chinese translation of "ethnic group" into "Zu Qun" and questions the validity of its over generalized application and its replacement of the Chinese term "Min Zu" (ethnicity or nationality) considering the problems in the understanding and application of this term on the part of scholars from both the Mainland China and Taiwan. It intends to provide a new perspective on the proper understanding and application of "ethnic group", a term connoting "identification" in Western countries, and explore the existing problems of interaction in international academic exchanges
