Factors affecting ethanol concentration determination in human samples

The ethanol concentration determination in human samples is common in forensic identification. Its result is the key arbitration reference of traffic accidents and contributes much to the final decision on examinee duties. This article discussed the factors including postmortem putrefaction,test material type,sample conservation method,blood components,toxicological features of ethanol and its metabolism, measuring instrument,analysis duration and result uncertainty etc. which could influence the ethanol determination results,to help the judicial examiners in judging whether vehicle drivers had been driving after drinking or not and estimating the ingested alcohol volume（ drunken state） scientifically and fairly.
