The Causes of the Nationalism and Ethnic Conflicts after the Cold War--A Case Study of Pre-Yugoslavia

Pre-Yugoslavia was a “mixture” far from maturity. Its disintegration and ethnic conflicts owed little to the social system but to the latent “malignant tumors” of its own. The country’s national separatism and ethnic conflicts, appearing crude and barbarian, originated from multiple factors stemming from its early history and recent development together with its internal conflicts, and is also effected by outside pressure. The interactivity of these factors eventually brought about the greatest national separatism and ethnic conflicts after the cold war.
