| Abstract: | During Ming and Qing Dynasties, commodity economy developed very rapidly and a new social class, townspeople class appeared, which resulted in the emergence of enlightenment school in ideological field. This paper discusses the great enlightenment ideologist Huang Hongxi's thoughts of democracy and rule of law. Two parts are included. The first part is about the civil rights and separation of powers; part two deals with democracy and rule of law. The reasons and conditions resulting in the thoughts are also analyzed. |
