试论中国的假日报纸

节假日期间的中国报纸休刊或减版的现象似已成惯例 ,其原因主要有 :假日期间的报纸缺少读者 ,报纸广告大幅减少 ,报纸信息来源减少和编辑记者需要休息。但在当今社会这些都已不成为理由 :节假日期间的读者有需求、有充足的时间读报 ,节假日为报纸留下了较大的版面空间 ,有国内外许多成功的报纸作借鉴。这些都为假日报纸的发展提供了广泛的可能。

Behavior of Chinese Newspapers during Public Holidays

Chinese newspapers seem to be used to suspending publication or reducing pages during public holidays. The "reasons" are: reduction of the number of readers, amount of advertisement, sources of information, and need for rest on the part of editors and journalists. Nowadays, however, these are just lame reasons. The fact is that during the holidays, the readers, with enough time, are willing to read; there is much room to be filled in by newspapers. Besides, many newspapers at home and abroad have succeeded in doing so. It is quite possible for newspapers to make some changes during holidays.
