经济社会发展是解决人民内部矛盾的物质基础,这是改革开放以来党的基本主张。社会主义初级阶段发展水平的相对不足,是诸多人民内部矛盾产生的根源。经济社会的发展为解决矛盾提供更多的手段和更大的回旋余地。发展并不能自动地解决人民内部矛盾问题,为使物质基础更好地发挥作用,不仅要更多地投入财力,而且要注意社会公平,协调利益关系。解决人民内部矛盾,不仅要依靠物质的力量,而且要将之与其他各种手段配合协调使用。

Economic and social development is the material foundation to resolve contradictions among the people.This is the basic stand of the Party since the reform and opening-up.The relative insufficiency of development in the primary stage of socialism is the origin for various contradictions among the people.Economic and social development provides more means and greater latitude to resolve the contradictions.Development cannot automatically resolve the problem of contradictions among the people.In order to make the material foundation play a bigger role,not only should more financial resources be put in,but also great attention should be paid to social justice and interest relationship coordination.To resolve contradictions among the people,we should not only relie on material force but also use it in coordination with other means.
