A simple thin layer chromatographic identification of choline in human semen

Abstract:A simple and satisfactory thin layer chromatographic method involving the use of Heyndrickx’ reagent for the identification of choline in semen is suggested. This reagent appears to be more specific than the Dragendorff reagent used by others for this purpose. The test was found to be positive only with human semen and negative with semen collected from animals like bulls and buffaloes.
