| Abstract: | The debate about materialism and idealism in the Seminar on the History of Chinese Philosophy 50 years ago offers lessons for the discarding of defects in present concepts.The wholesale Westernization and cultural conservatism should be avoided in the promotion of academic development of Chinese philosophy while linking of self academic life and national cultural life should be maintained. |
