National Economy In the first quarter, the national economy maintained rapid and steady growth. According to the preliminary estimation of the National Bureau of Statistics, the gross domestic product in the first three months was 4.33 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.2 percent, slightly higher than the 9.9 percent growth in the same period last year (see graph 1).
