| Abstract: | This paper sets out the circumstances and explains the reasons why shipping pools came into existence, and gives an account on the ways to form a new shipping pool or join an existing pool. The paper introduces operation of a shipping pool through the way of interpreting typical terms of a pool agreement. It further discusses possible disputes that may arise out of pool operation. |
