| Affiliation: | Timothy N. Oettmeier has begun his 29th year serving the public as a member of the Houston Police Department where he currently serves as an Executive Assistant Chief serving in the capacity as the Acting Chief of Police. His immediate past assignment was to the Office of Inspector General where he served as the city of Houston's Inspector General. He received his Ph.D. from Sam Houston State University in 1982 majoring in Criminal Justice Administration. He has served as a Project Director or principle member of several national police research initiatives funded by the National Insitutute of Justice involving such topics as: fear reduction, organizational change, criminal investigations, cultural diversity, measuring what matters, and police training |
