On Drug Patent Term Extension System:from Perspective of Drug Consumption Characteristics

Based on these characteristics, the Drug Patent Term Extension (DPTE) system can stimulate technological innovation. Furthermore, the negative impact on the social public interest can also be effectively controlled. Combined with the actual situation of Chinese pharmaceutical industry development and the implementation effect of drug patent policy, the DPTE system provided in Chinese Patent Law has strong rationality. The risk of cost increasing due to DPTE can be resolved by using a variety of measures.
