| 摘 要： | China is set to become thethird nation to put a humanin space—after the formerSoviet Union and theUnited States—within acouple of years. It has paved the way to achieving thegoal with successful launch and recoveryof three unmanned spacecraft since 1999,in addition to maintaining an active train-ing program for astronauts. The country will put its first astro-nauts into space within several years andlaunch another unmanned test flight bythe end of 2002 following the successfulthird mission in its fledgling spaceprogram, leading space officials havesaid.
