Lombroso in China:an Investigation into the History of Criminology

The change of fate of lombroso and his theory in China is an epitome of the development of Chinese criminology.Chinese criminology begins with the translation of Lombroso’s works and theories,its early death is also led by the criticism and negation of Lombroso and his theories,and its regeneration and development is also marked by the affirmation and objective evaluation of Lombroso.Criminology became a science because of Lombroso.Unfortunately,although it has been more than a hundred years since Lombroso’s theory was introduced into China,contemporary Chinese criminology is still in the metaphysical stage and still carries the remnants of a strong theological stage.Lombroso still has enlightenment significance to contemporary Chinese criminology.
