简论回族的来源和形成

回族并非中国境内的氏族、部落发展演变而形成的,而是以多种信仰伊斯兰教的外来人为主,在中华大地上吸取本土其他民族成分逐渐融合而形成的民族.在回族形成过程中,农业经济和商业经济是其经济基础,使用汉语是其与中国其他少数民族相区别的一个重要特征,而伊斯兰教信仰则是回族共同心理素质形成的首要因素.

The Origin and Formation of the Moslem (in China)

The Moslem in China originated not from the clans and tribes within its territory but from various people from abroad who believed in Islamism and meanwhile absorbed the cultural elements of the native Chinese. During their formation, agricultural and commercial economy is their economic foundation and the use of Chinese language was their typical sign. Above all, Islamism was the primary factor in the formation of the common psychology of the Moslem.
