The Current Condition and Developing Trend for Laboratory Accreditation of Forensic Science in China

As being encouraged by the trend of globalization in the world economy and demanded by the needs for trade facilitation, laboratory accreditation and mutual recognition systems have demonstrated a strong growth over the past decade. As an internationally recognized means of evaluation and demonstration of the laboratories for the competence in testing and calibration, accreditation is now widely used in various industrial sectors and social fields. The value of the laboratory accreditation has been proved by numerous benefits being enjoyed by the laboratory itself, by the clients of the laboratory and by other stakeholders in the society. The thesis introduces the definition , the purpose and the significance of the laboratory accreditation, and the current condition and developing trend for laboratory accreditation of forensic science.
