西方一些学者认为在国家干预经济的资本主义时代 ,马克思的经济基础和上层建筑理论不再适用于社会和国家的分析 ,或认为经济基础—上层建筑这种两分法事实上是一种错误的模式 ,并提出重构历史唯物主义的任务。这是一种误解。从政治经济学角度看 ,无论政治的经济功能怎样增强 ,但社会政治结构的核心地位仍是可以确定的 ,上层建筑总会保持相对独立性。

A Clarification on the Misunderstanding of Marx''''s Superstructure Theory by Western Scholars

Some western scholars hold that Marx's theory of superstructure is out of date in the era of capitalism by which the economy is interfered by states.They deny the Marx's dichotomy of base-superstructure by arguing it is a wrong model and not applicable for the analysis of society and the state.Meanwhile,they suggest themselves to reconstruct the historical materialism.All these are kinds of misunderstanding of Marx's theory.From the point of view of the political economics,the core of the social political structure can be seen clearly and superstructure always retains itself relatively independence no matter how strong the economic function of politics will grow.
