Agent‐based systems in public administrations

Public administrations have experienced in the last two decades a revolutionary process concerning procedures and instruments. The success of the PA services based on IT technologies has produced new needs for providing even more advanced services and solutions. One technology that has been attracting the research community is agent technology. This paper will describe how agent technology could be exploited to enhance PA services and discuss the issues related to their implementation.
