| Abstract: | A short survey is given of the present status in the digitalization of dental recording, the initiative to which was taken by the Fédération Dentaire Internationale (FDI) in 1970. Apart from being an international ‘language’ for the dental profession which — among other things — will greatly facilitate epidemiological research, such digitalization is of particular interest to forensic dental experts in that it may simplify their comparisons of ante- and postmortem dental data for identification purposes. |
