斯蒂芬·克莱恩的现代主义倾向

摘    要:斯蒂芬·克莱恩的小说表现出了明显的现代主义倾向。他通过表现人物的命运由环境或本能决定的主题否定了上帝的万能性。在表现空间上,他将叙述转移到人物的内心世界。尽管他用了介入式的叙述,但其基本叙述视角是人物的意识,作出了作家从作品“隐退”的努力。他采用视角转换的方法,使全知叙述人只充当与其他视角的视差形成对照的视角之一。他的作品中还有意识流的萌芽和将人物心态移情于物以表现物的人化、人的异化等现代主义的手法。他的作品以心理情节为主,表现出了人物的孤独和唯我等现代思想。

Abstract:Stephen Crane's novels obviously expressed the trend of modernism.He negated the omnipo-tent by the theme that stated the fate of characters being decided by environment and instinct.For mani-festing space,he focused his narrate on the characters' inner most being.He adopted the way of visual an-gle transformation to turn the omniscient narration of character into one of his visual angles only as a con-trast of parallax.In his works,there is the seed of stream of consciousness as well as modernism way of moving the characters' minds over to the subjects for expressing human alienation and personification.Mean-while,in his works,psychological plots are the main threads that expressed the characters' solitary and overweening..
