This paper tries to analyze Deng Xiaoping Theory on moderately well-off society from three aspects-its cultural traditions, its formation and denotation, as well as its characteristics and significance of guidance.The author holds that it embodies the agreement of China's socialist modernization drive with the traditional notion of creating an ideal moderately well-off society, marking a new development of the theory of scientific socialism in China, with striking features of contemporary era.
